  • Seems like I spoke too soon(stuck at 17lbs.)

I lost a relatively large amount of weight on induction and seem to be stuck at that weight loss for nearly a week now. The odd thing is that I didn't change my diet really at all since then, I've been drinking plenty of water, exercising moderately and following the proper fat to protein to carb ratio. I guess I should stop weighing myself every day...but still, after a week my weight(and measurements) are unchanged. Any suggestions/advice/feedback? I'm somewhat discouraged.

We refer to that as Post Induction Stall Syndrome

Many members have experienced it. It's your body adjusting to the weight loss. If you stick to the plan, you will begin losing again. Most likely, this is the time that you'll experience a big loss of inches.

Some members (myself included) went ahead and moved into OWL after experiencing this (it could last two weeks or so). Don't let it frustrate you, you ARE still losing. Do a search on the forums for P.I.S.S. or Post Induction Stall and you'll find lots and lots of posts about the exact same thing.

A week is really not very long, although I realize it can be frustrating. Stick with it and give it a few more weeks. Keep measuering to watch for inches to drop off. Hang in there, if you lost 17lb in 2 weeks then you should continue to meet with success. How quick depends upon a slew of things, but try not to get frustrated and stick to the plan.

        Keep plugging along!

Are you taking your measurements and watching them too? sometimes the scale is lieing...your body's adjusting to the changes. 1 week is just a "pause", 4-5 weeks is something to be concerned about. Take care, and hang in there! The scale will move...soon

Of course you should stop. You are sabatoging yourself. Atkineers arenot scale slaves. You can go down entire sizes on Atkins and never register any movement on the scale.

Weight loss slows down after induction. Thats normal.

Just keep eating right and exercising. You will be fine.

Once a week is ample. I do it every Saturday morning. And inches lost and how clothes fit are better guides than the scale.

I think this sticky called 'Weightloss is not linear' should be required reading alongside DANDR 2002.

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Yes..... read weight loss is not linear.

The third week stall is common. It happened to me... These one week stalls are IMPORANT as your body needs time to adjust. Consider it just part of Atkins and a GOOD sign. If it lasts longer than 1.5 weeks then worry.

We all want the weight off as soon as possible but remember that if you stick to the plan you'll be thin for the REST OF YOUR LIFE so one week isn't a problem

And stop weighing yourself. I don't weigh myself at ALL... I just measure. This is the only way to do it

Most of did not lose weight immediatly after induction no weight loss for six weeks is considered a stall!
