I need help. In a week of induction I lost only 2 pounds. I need a sample menu of some one who has lost a lot of weight in a decent time. Any help would be appreciated.

Induction is a minimum of 14 days. Give the entire 14 days a fair shot by following the Rules, eating the Foods listed in the Food List and exercising.Originally posted by Bee123I need help. But if it helps, I ate nothing but caesar salads(with chicken), hamburger meat, chicken breasts, ribeye steaks, turkey lunch meat, sausage, bacon, eggs, romaine lettuce, celery, tomatoes, cucumbers, parmesan and jack cheeses, ranch dressing and mayo for Induction. Not all at the same time, of course.

What were your carb counts each day? Did you count them as net carbs? Were you keeping track using something like Fitday? Were you getting enough veggies? Enough fat? Salad veggies are often not enough carbs, especially on Induction. I stalled if I didn't get real veggies in (ex. broccoli, green beans, etc.).
Post your typical daily menu in the Review My Menu section and it's likely the experts can find something.
Also, weight loss will happens as it will. This isn't necessarily a rapid weight loss program. Many factors go into how fast you lose weight, which is why doing a clean induction is important so that you can perhaps determine if you have metabolic resistance issues.Start date: 2/22/04 347/222/135 ~ 5'2"

My sample menu is like this:
Breakfast: 4 pieces of bacon with a cup and half of coffee with one cream and splenda.
Snack: 1 string cheese
Lunch: Ceaser Salad with dressing (4 carbs) and chicken and diet coke.
Snack: Coffee and water(a cup or two)
Dinner: Steak or Ground beef with cheese or broccoli and diet coke.
Is this ok?

Bee, just from experience (i've only been doing this for less than 3 weeks now) but it seems you need to drink more water & maybe knock out the coffee/diet soda (are you drinking decaf?) I am a coffee lover myself, but gave it up once i started Atkins, as i read, it "stalled" many & i do not want to take the chance. Just make sure you are eating the 3 cups of veggies required (in the induction rules).... Like i said, i am quite new at this too, but that is the only thing that stick out in my mind & from my own experience. I now drink at leat 100 oz. of water a day, and nothing else. if i want something else to drink, i will have a 1/2 glass of crystal lite SF rasberry drink, but i am sure to count those carbs...Originally posted by Bee123My sample menu is like this:

It sounds like you may need to cut back on the diet coke and coffee -- and really hit the water!! For many people - caffeine adds to the stall (believe me - I've been there before myself - and have learned how caffeine affects my blood sugar levels) Also, some people say that the nitrate in bacon can cause stalls as well, so be careful and watch labels closely. Everybody's journeys are so different, and only you know your body best. Best of luck to you on your weight loss journey!

Try cutting out the caffine (coffe and coke), that slows down weight loss in a lot of people... and maybe add in some more veggies! Also, check your bacon, I was surprised when I found out my bacon was loaded w/ sodium nitrate and cured in sugar... even though it said 0 carbs... Also, maybe the creamer is slowing down your weight loss... I know I can not have cream at all or I stall/ gain.
I agree w/ Dave, tons of probs come with losing weight too fast. Focus on health, setting a time frame will only disapoint you. Good luck!

Started Dec 2005 and lost 105 lbs by mid 2006, maintained loss for the most part until 2009...then really let go & gained some back... lol

My initial suggestions on your menu is drink lots more water, cut out the diet sodas (or at least limit them significantly),cut down on your caffeine intake, and be wary of bacons, sausages, pork rinds, or any other food that contains lots of salt because you will retain water.
I also have over a 100lbs to lose and at the beginning of starting Atkins I was always trying to figure out how to speed up my weight loss. The frustrating but true fact is is that it takes a while to lose even half of the weight that we would like to lose. The good news is that the longer you commit to stay on Atkins, the easier it is to do...I have been on it for about 6 months and have to say that I am not a fast weight loser. So far I have lost 28 pounds and while it doesn't seem like much, for the first time in many, many years, I have control over my eating habits. Keep focused on your WOE and your weight loss goals and you will do great...probably not as fast as you would like, but you will get there.

As some brilliant person has in their signature line, it didn't take a day to gain the weight, so it isn't going to take a day to lose it!! Or something like that!
Be patient. Work the program. Eat your veggies. Drink you water. Exercise, please! Your motivation and determination are there!

Get all your veggies in everyday (very important) and spread them through all of your meals. Even breakfast.( I eat a stalk of celery in the morning hours along with my eggs and one piece of bacon) Veggies keeps things moving internally so they don't hang around and weigh ya down and will keep you healthy. Start having an affair with your water bottle, baby. It's gonna be your friend for along time. The more water you drink the less you will retain. Your body will realize water is abundant and will stop holding so much back in reserves. And, Sweets, stay off of that SCALE!! Go by how your clothes feel and take your measurements now. They will be good for an ego boost a month from now when you start seeing a difference. It takes years to build up fat and it will take a while to get rid of it. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was your booty. Be as patient with yourself as you would a good friend. Drop the diet cokes, for now. You can work some back in later on, but for now, it is best to have a good clean induction.
Have you gotten the book? Dr. Atkins' New diet revolution is available at Amazon.com for around a penny + shipping. It is worth getting and reading. It will help all these rules make more sense.
