I am here to tell you all that the WHOOSIE FAIRY has took up residence at my house in TARHEEL LAND !! I am down 6 more lbs, to 274, met my first goal today 5/31/06 !! 250 is only around the corner !! This is for all the people who tell me that this WOE is going to kill me.....I went to my doctor yesterday for the results of last week's blood tests, and when I weighed in and we went over the results, "he" pulled out a chair and sat down !! We both were blown away!! The last time I was in his office was my restart day and I weighed 304! Now I would like to share some results:

Total Chol. Now-155 B4-163 down 8 points
HDL Chol. Now-27 B4-24 up 3 pts, always been low, but moving up
VLDL Chol. Now-34 B4-78 down 44 pts. (good range 0-40)
LDL Chol. Now-94 B4-unable to calculate due to high Triglycerides !!
(safe range 0-99)
Now for the one that made us both go WOW !!
Triglycerides Now-171 B4- 523, yes that is 523 !! (safe range used to be less
than 200, now they want it to be less than 150.
I had a liver ensyme level that was high due to what my Dr. said was "fatty
liver"......ALT level was 76, now it is 23, safe range is 0-40....

I must apoligize for the length, but I HAD to share all this info, hopefully it will inspire someone who made be struggling to stay with this WOE, and may I add that these blood work results and weight are only about 60 days apart !!!!

WOW! That is remarkable! I love these types of stories. They make me excited to go have my own bloodwork redone to see what's going on with my cholesterol levels. I've only just finished my 1st week of induction though, so I have some time to wait.

No apology needed for the length -- we would only have asked for more information. These results are absolutely astounding!!!!!!!!

I am so happy for you that this WOL is working so well - and so quickly!! 50 lbs in a little more than 2 months? We want PICTURES!! You will need pics to chronicle your success, as it is totally evident that you are going to be one of the biggest losers here.

The best part of this is your triglycerides. As I understand it, that is the most accurate indicator of heart disease risk. You must be doing the plan the right way to have such good results! I was worried about lipids when I started and had all levels lowered but not as much as you did.

My DH and I were just talking last night about his lowering cholesterol from the high 300's to 287 and his doctor stopped nagging him to take Zocor. He's eating better now that I'm doing Atkins although I won't let him do straight Atkins cuz he won't drink his water or eat his veggies regularly.

Keep up the good work -- duh, of course you will!!

Yes, I am in NC and a TRUE BLUE CAROLINA TARHEEL !! As far as pictures go, I will have to see what I can do for you, I do not have a digital camera, but I have access to one at work, so we'll see.......I am so pleased to see my lab tests also !! Today is HAPPY DAY for me !!

I told my husband about your stats and his eyes popped out of his head--literally. He's been slowly evolving into a die hard Atkins fan and I think this cinched the deal for him.
