Okay okay...I fell off the wagon (semi fell).....I forgot my breakfast and lunch at home.....I have NO money to spend on frivilous things like food from a reastaruant cuz I'm going thru some legal issues with the ex that involve my child...all my money is wrapped up in attorney fees *sigh*.....I had to call the guy I'm dating and say hey buddy...take me out to lunch. Ughhh it's like payday and Friday and EVERY stinking place was packed. We ended up at the Chinese buffet (there arent many choices around here...). *sigh* I tried to tell him there was nothing there we could eat (he's doing Atkins with me)...but since it was the third place we had tried to get in to and time was a ticking....we stayed and ate.
I did try to keep it reasonable although I'm sure it didnt help. I ate the shrimp that was cooked with cabbage and zucchini in a butter sauce, I ate some chicken and broccoli, some chicken and mushrooms, and some pork with cabbage and other greens. (like one little scoop of each thing...so I had one normal sized serving total)
The only thing is........when we got done eating....I could TASTE all the sugars and stuff that were in the sauce on the chicken and broccoli and chicken and mushrooms.
Should I really be kicking myself this hard? I mean...yes, I should because it wasnt what I was supposed to do....ugh the guilt............
So what now? Get over it? Eat a salad for dinner and just continue the right way I have been doing from here on out? Just count it as a ummmm I dont know......

best thing to do is shake it off and keep it moving. You don't want to get too depressed over it as it could lead to a serious fall off the wagon..

Thanks drosa....that's kind of what I'm thinking....I dont want to work myself into a spin where I totally blow it. I mean...I know it was wrong...even though I tried my best to eat the healthiest and most correct things available....but I guess I shouldn't let the guilt eat me up so bad to the point where I say forget it and go home and eat a big pot of spaghetti or something silly like that....right?

Exactly - Get back on the low carb train and continue to ride it as far as you can. You could have made worse "cheat" decisions - but the fact that you acknowledged the situation, as incidental, and are willing to jump right back into the swing of things, says alot about how commited you are. One meal doesn't hurt you or your progress up to this point - so don't be too hard on yourself!! Take an extra long walk tonite and keep trying to be the healthiest you!!

Right, take a deep breath and forge on. We are all human and this board is full of people, just like us who make mistakes. The key is to not get discouraged and plan ahead. Like I have extra food in the fridge at work..just in case I forget lunch..a cheap alternative to chinese food would be a salad or bunless burger from a fast food restaurant..cheap and safe.

Move on and drinks lots of water so that you can flush that sugar right out..

Yes, darn the chinese food. Why do they take the best assortment of veggies in town and sugar them up anyway? It's a crying shame.

Yeah...I mean, the fried rice and stuff was right NEXT to the things that I picked so I guess youre right...I could have just said...well I'm here so lets just eat it all....but I did my best to make sure I ate the right things. Thank you for the kind words and the support. I do appreciate it and it does help me in staying on the right path even though I made an error......Thank you~

Because that's what Americans want, you can bet your flax bun that when the chinese cooks go home, they don't make anything like what was on the buffet.
Americans (and others) want their food sweet, salty, sticky, gravied and if they are southern, slapped on a biscuit.

Seshena, I think you did well. We can try to be prepared for anything but it don't always happen. Especially if it is do to $$$ issues. I can feel your pain about being broke! But you answered your own question. Just get right back to it. Like D Rose said, flush your body with water, be conscious of possible cravings and just stick with it. If it knocked you out of ketosis, it was probably only a handful of hours. Just until your body burned off those nasty carbs, and then it went back to fat burning.
You didn't do too bad, so don't beat yourself up!
And the suggestion for a salad and bunless buger is a good one. I snag Wendy's on tough days. The Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger has real cheese, no ketchup and Lettuce, onion, tomato, mayo. And, it's 99 cents! Just right for my pocket book. I pull the bun off as I eat it to avoid having to eat it with a fork. And the cheese isn't next to the bread, so it stays on the burger instead of the bun. That's a big pet peeve of mine. Places melting cheese to the bread.

Thanks for all the support guys....I felt better that I had at least made the most decent choices available to me.

And yes...a pet peeve of mine too is the cheese melted to the bread....LOL.

I have been doing a lot better but havent weighed myself in a few weeks....its a week before that TOM and I just dont want to step on a scale until its all done....BUT...my clothes are feeling a LOT looser so I'm hoping that is a good sign. I actually have to keep pulling my jeans up by the waist (I dont wear a belt) because they are sliding lower on my waist, to the point of dragging on the ground...LOL.

Anyway....thanks again to everyone for their words of encouragement.

As a total act of rebellion today, I think that at lunchtime we should all put on our baggy-bunch-at-the-bottom-pants and go to a chinese buffet. We will eat all of the contents out of the eggrolls leaving behind the fried carb shells. The onlookers will stare in bewilderment and wonder ,"Who were those skinny people that just raided the eggroll pan?"
We could even have T-shirts made.

You cant say things like that to me...I have a vivid imagination. Everyone at work is wondering why I'm sitting in my cubicle snickering away. LOL

And for the record...I'm wearing another pair of jeans that seem to have gotten looser on me...every step I take the slide a little further down.....while I am by no means skinny (very far from it)...I feel like one of those silly wenches whose thong shows at the top of their pants because mine wont stay up...
