Hello, I'm 2 1/2 months in, lost 30 lbs, feel great, a blessing, my question is, as I've progressed a long I've been adding little more carbs every week, I think I'm up to like 60 carbs a day and still keep losing and staying in Ketosis, what is the general rule as far as what I could raise that carb level to and still stay in Ketosis???? 100 ? 80? etc...? any thoughts..THANK U

Re: Carb limit/Ketosis question ????????????
Wow, that's unusual, but everyone's different. You need to up the carbs very gradually until you notice that you are no longer in ketosis, then go back to the amount that kept you in. Good luck!

Re: Carb limit/Ketosis question ????????????
I dont think there IS a general rule as we all have different metabolisms and our bodies work differently.
We did have one moderator who posted asking how she could STOP losing weight as she was eating 100+ carbs and dropping below her goal weight!
I know some goalies have posted that while exercising intensely they could eat over 100 carbs and lose but if injured they found they had to drop their carbs closer to 40 to keep losing without exercising.
So just keep on doing what you are doing till you find a carb level at which you stop losing weight or inches and that is your CCLL for the lifestyle you are leading.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: Carb limit/Ketosis question ????????????
congrats on your great metabolsim. if you look in DANDR chapter 14 Dr Atkins has a chart of CCLL ranges based on metabolic resistnaCE rates that were determined by clean induction eating weight loss. those that engage in regular exercise can expect a CCLL to be between 60-90 net grams and he defines reular exerciser as somebody doing 45 mins of vigourous exercise 5 days week.
I know I was over 115 losing in OWL doing HIIT and BFL weight lifting 6 days a week Loonatika was eating over 100 in OWl doing her exercise and losing too. Don was 115 but others can't eat that high and lose cause their metabolism isn't set up that way like Brook.
remeber too the stix will quit measuring the type of ketones they count when your CCLL gets to about 50 according to Dr Atkins. you are still in ketosis just not peeing out the ketone bodies measured by those stix.
