    Re: Now what???

keep going and know your 14 day numbers will be off for figuring out your metabolic type and your estimated CCLL for OWL.

just keep eating your induction foods know ylu may have the induction flu again and figure out what you coulda shoulda woulda done differently to avoid what happened and be ready for the next time with a plan of action.

    Happy low carbing.

      Re: Now what???

      Thanks.

When I finish induction, yes, my metabolic type figures will be off. But why would be CCLL for OWL be off. I will continue to eat no more than 20 for the rest of induction and then add 5 more per week. Shouldn't I be back on track as far as that is concerned??

( I think I will extend induction one extra week)

        Re: Now what???

haven't read your DANDR cover to cover have you?

CCLL is critical carbohydrate level for losing and a pretty accurate number can be assertained from the chart based on 14 day induction weight loss metabolic type. the chart is in chapter 14. since your pounds will be off you will not have an accurste idea fo where yours is. When doing OWL if say yours is 60 and you have issues at 25 you can pretty well be sure it is the food not the total amount of carbs causing the problems. When you get close to it you can know maybe it wasn';t the food but I'm at my number back down 5 and see.

          Re: Now what???

I have read the book, more than once.

I didn't see that you said ESTIMATED CCLL. I know what an CCLL is, I was confused becasue I thought you said that my actual CCLL would be off because of my induction oopsie.

What do you think about me staying on induction an extra week?

            Re: Now what???

With 15 pounds to lose I wouldnt spend too long on induction unless you were offplan for over a week and are experiencing cravings etc.
Move on to OWL after your 14 days are up so you will have the time to experiment with adding your 5 net carbs worth of all the OWL rung foods and find your CCLL before reaching goal.
Dr Atkins told us to lose our last few pounds in premaintenance Atkins, to help us prepare for maintenance eating.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

              Re: Now what???

if you are in ketosis and have your cravings under control their is no reason not to move to OWL unless you got a lot to lose. the first rung of OWL is just 5 more net carbs of those yummy induction veggies. very heaslthy eating all the way around and they will add greatly to your micronutrient supplies.

                Just keep on.
Induction doesn't have to stop at 2 weeks. I did 3 months last year and intend do the same again.
If you're happy on it, stay on it.

                  Re: Now what???

Got to disagree with you there PresidentHolmes you were a superheavyweight like me with much to lose and a long time in Atkins weight loss phases. Rae Maire is a flyweight with little total pounds to lose and needs to spend time framing her house of Atkins eating in OWL so she can learn what food types/brands/individual foods efrect her control of her eating theough blood sugar issues while she has pounds to go and the protection of deep ketosis. Should she arrive at goal from limited induction eating she has no way other then re4gaining some of her weight to know what rungs she can and can't handle where her CCLM is. According to DR Atkins and the statistics of regained weight loss we are hurting ourselves doing induction to goal cause the likely hood we will keep it off are even smaller then the 1out of 10 for all weight loss folk.
Move to OWl and do the phases when Dr Atkins says your weight loss will slow he is talking about compared to your 14 day induction speed which will slow on extended induction anyway too.

                    2big4mysize and Elizellen-

I totally see your point. Although I would love to stay on induction and loss the weight quickly, I'm not sure if that would be teaching me anything.
I will see how I feel when my original induction end date is up. If I feel good, I will move on. If I feel like I need to stay on for a few more days I will. I don't think I will have problems with cravings, ect but I'll just have to see.

My biggest concern is the way my belly feel. I think I am having a nasty reaction to the carb overdose. I can tell I am holding onto water fairly well and my tummy is really knotted and grumbley.. Is just gross! Lesson learned!

                    Thanks for the advice...EVERYONE!

so you got a silverliningout of this remember how bad your tummy feels and ther next time you are even temped by some high carb food calling your name use that feeling as aversion therapy to silence those bad foods. then stomp the living daylighrs out of them.
