  • Entirely different problem now--where is the lost weight coming from?!

First it's that I'm stalling, then that I fear muscle mass is shrinking and now I can't for the life of me figure out where the weight is dropping FROM.

Well, the dispel my previous concerns, I'm no longer stalled. In fact, I weighed in at an all time low of 246.8lbs. this morning, 6 less than during my stall scare. And I no longer feel as though I'm dropping muscle mass. However, I still can't tighten my belt a notch without it being uncomfortable and my stomach doesn't seem to be decreasing in size. In fact, I can't spot any area of significant decrease and it's driving me nuts.

I understand that the first place you gain it is usually the last place that you lose it. And I DO tend to put on weight in my stomach area first. But, man, bring on the new pants sizes already!

I know how you are feeling, I see people whipping from size to size and after 20 lbs. I am still wearing the same shorts, and pants that I started with. They may have been snug and now they are comfy but I want to drop sizes and tightened the notch on my belt.

You should get a big pat on the back, you've lost more in just over a month than some lose in 3 or more!

Your body is problably just shifting gears a little - it happens to all of us periodically. As long as your still eating and exercising, you should notice muscle tone improving, (maybe inches of new muscle are slowly replacing inches lost fat), as well as feeling healthier.

you'd be surprized how many actual inches you are losing pop into the 6WEC forum and get the places to measure info in the sign up topics and then watch those areas shrink as you do your Atkins both the eating and the exercise part.

You're probably losing in a place you really can't see. I took progress pics today, only 4 lbs lost from the last set. I can't see any change in my stomach or hips, but my back looks great! Take pics, measure everywhere you can get a tape around.

What's your % body fat? editing to elaborate on this....

If you know your %body fat, then you can get it measured periodically to see if you are losing fat or are losing muscle.

Have you measured your fingers, feet and head lately?

I have dropped one shoe size and hats that fitted me before slip over my ears!!

No-one told me I had a fat head before Atkins

I also have had to resize my rings once and soon will need to again.

Here is the difference so far - the one on the left was originally the same size as the other one, and is the one I lost and found again an hour later on the pavement outside our yard entrance - and then got made smaller to act as a 'keeper' for the other un-resized one!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: Entirely different problem now--where is the lost weight coming from?!

I keep a written journal of my weight and measurements. When I went back to look, I would see a big drop on the scale, but no inches...then a week or so later, a big drop in inches and no loss on the scale.

I have to agree with the others too about losing in places you don't think to measure, or can't measure. I like taking pictures because that really tells stories the tape measure and scale can't. But, I've definitely lost in my fingers and my feet and the top of my shoulders, my face, my neck, my knees...the tops of my hands etc.

I'm sure you are losing...just in those obscure places that you can't really measure.
