  • A most amazing devepment!

Well I think it is. You may wonder what the fuss is about.

I have very recently taken to drinking black tea. My former fatty self from being a child would drink lots and lots of very milky tea in a day. Even without sugar the calories from up to a pint of milk a day in the tea must have been significant.

On Atkins of course milk and caffeine are banned. I took to first fennal tea then green tea (which is naturally low in caffeine) - neither, of course with milk.

In the later stages of Atkins I would allow myself an occasional cup of English Tea when out, but I found I was no longer enjoyng it.

Now I find I prefer English Tea without milk - quite amazing after half a century of being mocked for drinking weak tea with so much milk.

Which only goes to show how much tastes change if you stick to plan. For a long time now I have looked at carby foods and thought they looked and smelled disgusting.

Now this Englishman doesn't even like tea the English way!
Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
    he said, 'Don't count calories.'

That is indeed a most amazing development!
    I'm the same.
Being from the land with the highest heart-attack rate in Europe and the nation of the deep-fried pizza(Scotland), I've a very sweet tooth. But now I can't drink Coke, and all thos fizzy drinks, far too sweet! Even diet drinks taste too sweet!
Yes, your tastes really do change and yes, you read that right, deep-fried pizza!!!

It is amazing how we can change our tastes given enough time.

Labarum, I just noticed you live in Reading! That is where I stayed when I took a trip to visit a girlfriend of mine. I would take the train into London and site see while she was at work during the day. I adored Reading so much! My friend has since married an American and moved to Conneticut but she always brings back some Super dark Thornton's chocolate for me when she goes home to visit her Mum. She also sent me a Huge Bottle of Ribena in the mail when I got pregnant. That is something I wish they sold in the states. I know my son would love a little Ribena in the morning.
      Such a small world.
