  • Cheesecake Factory 6 Carb Cheesecake

Ok, just thought I'd let everyone know:

The resteraunt called The Cheesecake Factory makes a 6 carb slice of cheesecake that is, without a doubt, out of this world. It is made with Splenda and it is simply divine.

Try it if you can, really!

First, if you live near a Cheesecake Factory, you really should go. They have terrific food for anyone. Of course, you may have to ask for salads or fish dishes a certain way, but where don't we have to do that?

Their cheesecake definitely makes you feel like you should feel bad about yourself, but you don't have to. It's fantastic.

      *6 CARB ORIGINAL CHEESECAKE™
      </I>
Creamy and Delicious with a Graham-Walnut Crust
*Cheesecake: 6 net carbs, Strawberries: 3 net carbs, Whipped Cream: 2 net carbs

So not an induction-legal treat (because of the nuts and strawberries) but fine once you reach the berries rung of OWL I would imagine and if you are happy using 11 carbs on one dish.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Personally, I would rather make my own! I can make something like 5 cheesecakes for the price of one slice at The Cheesecake Factory!! And then I can control things like no crust and no extras, so I'm not tempted!

Now, if I were at dinner with friends, I might suggest this for dessert so we could all have a bite!

Well, I don't like strawberries or nuts so it's only 6. And, I have managed to stay ketotic while incorperating it (occasionally) into my diet!

Well, shoot, it's only 5.5 carbs if you share it with a friend. Besides, I'd have to have a cup of coffee with it too! We have one near us. I may have to cruise by and have a slice before moving back to the country! Thanks for the heads up!! It is not as fashionable for restraunt to keep Atkins friendly menus anymore. Some still do, but some have dropped their low carb items. Thanks to the bad press. But we shall over come!!

Do it! I actually split the Thai Lettuce Wraps, then have a dinner salad with ranch, an omelette with spinach, cheese, and mushrooms, and then have the cheesecake (usually all to myself). I am still dropping weight and am ketotic!

I've always wondered if the only sweetener they use is Splenda or if they blend it with sugar alcohols......

It is awesome, but for 7 dollars it better be! The fat kid in me screams for a piece of that Oreo goodness, but I know better.

OK, I had the Cheesecake factory email me the detail (ingredients etc) This is not as good as it appears to be. The file they sent can't be copy and pasted so it will take me a few minutes to transcribe it here but I'll be back shortly with the details of what this cheesecake contains! You might want to see this.

Re: Cheesecake Factory 6 Carb Cheesecake

There are alot of us who have found that subtracting 22 g of sugar alcohols would spell disaster--if you are like me and have to count sugar alcohol carbs you can consider this cheesecake to be 26-27 carbs per slice. Just an FYI. You'd be better off making your own cheesecake and using splenda as the sweetener - that way you could also avoid the cornstarch and the flour that this cheesecake contains, and if you're on induction the walnuts as well.

Ingredients: Cream Cheese (Pasteurized Milk and Cream, Cream culture, Salt, Xanthan and or Carob Bean and or Guar Gums), Eggs, Erythriotol, Walnuts, Polydextrose, Low Carb Crumb (Polydestrose, Cornstarch, Palm Oil, Eggs, Soy Protein Concentrate, Enriched Wheat Flour [contains Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid], Vital Wheat Gluten, Maltitol, Natural Flavor, Baking Powder [Baking Soda, Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Cornstarch] Salt, Sucrose), Sour Cream (Cultured Cream, Nonfat Milk, Vegetable Enzyme), Butter, Splenda(sucralose), Vanillin (artificial flavor)

6 carb cheesecake referes to the “net effective carbohydrates” and was developed for customers that want a “low carb” alternative. Net Effective Carbohydrates are calculated as follows, based on the Nutrittion Facts Panel:

                        Total Carbohydrates (39g) – Dietary Fiber (12g) – Sugar Alcohol (22g)= 5 g Effective Carbohydrates.

From Nutrition Facts Panel above, this results in 5 g Net Effective Carbohydrates. This cake is declared conservatively (accounting for slight variation in manufacturing process and slicing) as a “6 Carb Cheesecake”

                          Thanks for that list MoG!

I suspected it used a combo of artificial sweeteners. I didn't realize it contained soy, so the soy-sensitive people like 2Big need to stay away from this.

Yea, they always advertise the Splenda part but I found a lot of products put a teeny bit of splenda (usually the last item on the list) just so they can use the recognized logo on their advertising! Jelly Belly SF Jelly Beans are a prime example of that! Very deceiving if you ask me--makes me mad because I cannot tolerate sugar alcohols!

Oh yea, and it contains Sucrose too...which translates to "common table sugar"! Surprise surprise surprise.
