  • Help me fix this ratio!

    Okay so after a rocking lunch of Chirashi (no rice) at my favorite sushi place, I've got a bit of a ratio conundrum. My lunch combined with my egg white, avocado and swiss omelette this morning puts me here:
    737 Calories 353 from fat
    51% fat at 39g
    36% protein at 61g
    13% carbs at 28g (6 fiber)
    Short of having a stick of butter with a side of cream cheese for dinner. What ideas do you all have?

      Crap I always forget to add that. I suppose I should get one of those siggy things.
      I'm in OWL and hovering somewhere around the nut and berry rungs.

        Any cut of meat should bring in some fat. Have you had a salad yet today? Put some olive oil on it. Add a few slices of your beloved avocado maybe? Olives? Cheese?

        But butter and cream cheese sounds great!

          Nuts!!!! Have some nuts! Macadamia nuts are a great source of fat!

            I don't think I could eat a stick of butter straight up. I'm not that hard core!
            I'm trying to keep the carb count at about 30 or below everyday so I'm leaning more towards fatty meat options...
            I already had my half of an avocado today with breakfast.
            Good call on the olives though!
            Maybe a salad that I make with cucumber, kalamata olives and feta cheese with olive oil?

              Also, do you have any heavy cream? It's 68% fat. So if you haven't used up your cream and sweetener limits for the day, make a shake! All you need is a couple tablespoons of cream, a bit of water, ice, cocoa powder or another legal flavoring, and splenda/SF syrup whirred up in a blender.

                Your salad idea sounds great, Erin. Have you plugged it into FitDay to see what it would add? I do that a lot - throw things in there to see how my day would turn out.

                H2Ohh is also on target. A little cream would beef up your fat nicely!

                  I put in the cream and while it does help the fat it skyrockets up the caloric intake to a point where if I ate 8 small chicken wings (a snack I have waiting i the fridge), I'd be over 2000 calories for the day.
                  I'll keep playing around.

                  Dude! 11 Macadamia nuts puts me almost perfectly at 61% 28% 10%!

                  Now what do I eat on TOP of those so as not to disturb that delicate balance!?

                    Hmmm, I would eat those wings and nuts and call it a day!! All of these numbers and ratios make my head spin!

                      I really wouldn't get so hung up on the ratios. Have a good atkins friendly meal and call it a day. meat and veggies or salad..whatever. I really wouldn't be hung up on all these %'s. eat till your full don't eat something for the sake of your %'s, just keep your carb count where it should be.

                        if you are still doing the candidda program you better read some more cause nuts and olvives aren't allowed.

                        Erin you seem to be missing the point of Atkins we don't run on low fat high protein ofr 2 meals and then eat make uop fats at the next. every meal should be in the right ratio so your blood sigar ois stable and the correct fat burning hormones are being secreted all day long. if you screw up your breckfast and lunch the Atkins correct thing to do is eat a propper ratio for your phase next meal and go from there.

                          I didn't miss the point. I just happened to have a lot of sashimi for lunch and didn't realise how screwy it would be until I put it into fitday.
                          Trust me, most days are anything but low fat.

                            So is that what our ratio is supposed to be? 61% fat 28% protien 10% carbs? I've started to use Fitday and its got the little pie chart at the top

                            Did Atkins on and off from Feb 2005 until April 2008. Fluctuated between 15 st 1/211lbs and 11 st 1/155lbs.
                            On different weightloss programme from 28th May 2008 start weight 14 st 11/207lbs.
                            Current weight 10st 3lbs/143lbs.
                            Ultimate Goal Weight 9 st/126lbs.

                              Yes, that's the question I've been wondering too, since leaving induction, still have 65/30/5 stuck in my head. But upping carbs on rung 1 to keep that ratio means ultimately upping the calories a good bit. What should the ratios be during the different phases of Atkins??
