I have been a little ( alot) bound-up the last few day, my tummy actually is unformortable. I really don't want to take a stimulate laxitive though. I have a bottle of "bulk-forming Fiber laxitives". It a generical brand that is compared to Fibercon. The main ingrident is Calcuim Polycarbohil. other ingridents are:
calcium carbonate, caramel, crospovidone, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, silicon dioxide, sodium lauryl sulfate.

Anyone see why I should not take these, or can you recommend anything better.

Also, what should/can I add to my diet on a regular bases so I don't have this problem again.

I found these. They are sugar free and don't save corn starch in them...

    Thanks,
    Rae-Marie

    Re: Fiber

I am not sure, but reading the label it would appear that there are no countable carbs. The 4 grams of carbs are all fiber, but I dont know about the rest of the ingredients.
I myself use flax seed on a daily basis to help with regularity. I have recently found a recipe to make cookies form flax seed, needless to say, I am not lacking any fiber. I hope this helps.
Another day, in a new weigh!!!

I don't know what DANDR says about these, but if you have ongoing prolems, 1-2 T of flax daily is allowed on induction.

Also make sure you are eating your 2-3 cups veggies, include some fibrous ones like spinach, artichoke, broccoli, cabbage. Also make sure you are with in your cheese limit of 3-4 oz daily. Eliminating cheese totally for just a couple days got me back on track, and it totally helps me to make sure I eat cheese now IN something, or ON veggies, not by itself.

        Re: Fiber

I took the fiber pills to hopefully get things move. I also just got from the store and picked up some ground flax seed. I am going to start using it daily. As for the cheese intake, I am going to cut down to 1oz for the next few days.

        Thanks!!

ot will take a while for the pills to work their way through you lots of water should help as will exercise to move them along. if it gets too bad you can use natural glycerin suppositories one of those should move you in less them 45 min without any problems. they are OTC and in the laxative area.

              Re: Fiber

I am with 2Big on the glycerin. Have caution with the flax though, too. Too much flax will block you up as well. Up your water and take a few walks to get things moving. Good idea about cutting back on the cheese.
I did use a tea the other night called Smooth Move (I am sure the pun was intended) It was carb free/ caffeine free. I drank it right before bed and was "good to go" the next morning. It does use senna leaf so follow the directions and read the cautions. My MIL buys it in the chocolate flavor. It is in the health food section at my Kroger.
