Congrats on your loss so far.
I have a glass or two of red wine every week. My weight loss has slowed, but I wouldn't attribute it to just the wine.
My reaction to reintroducing alcohol is very similar to what Mrsnicksmom said:
- It only takes one glass to make me tipsy
- I tend to savor it a bit more than I used to
- It definitely triggers cravings for sweets
I find that if I have the wine with cheese and some black olives (Greek Kalamatas - yum), I don't have cravings as much. Red wine plus cooked tomatoes causes major cravings. But the biggest problem is that, being a little tipsy, I don't have the strong sense of self-control you need to deal with cravings.
