    Lol, girls, I hear you about the need-new-clothes-but-have-no-money thing!!


    I had to rush to the thrift store in a panic because I'm starting a new job here and I had $20 to my name and almost nothing to wear that really fit properly. Boy did I have fun though!
    No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

      The softness! I forgot about that. My stomach is softer now. Flatter and in better condition, but softer at the same time. I had to buy a few pairs of pants for my new job. Almost all the pants I had didn't fit right at all. Not only loose in the hips but just falling wrong in general. We're having a yard sale next week and I have a bunch of stuff going.

        I don't know Joy since I'm new to this WOE, however, I'd take the size 12 anytime!! Great Job!

          Hmmm, I wonder what is going on with the "softer" reports b/c I am experiencing the same despite the fact that I have started running.

          What I have noticed is I am losing more in the hip & rear area more than any other place. My waist does seem smaller though the measuring tape varies!

          As far as different size pants, it often depends on the brand. WIth couture & higher end clothing, I am definitely a size up! What I currently fit is b/t 3 different sizes, depending on the brand/designer.

            yep size 12 my way of wearing them size 10 the sales lady's way here. Nobody believes I weigh 168 pounds either.

            On Atkins just eating the plan even without the exercise or loeing any pounds we add more tissue to our protein stores. UConn did a study of this in normnal weight folk and used specail machines to measure increases in muscle tissue and they found in just 6 weeks the Atkins group have lost fat and added muscles weight even without trying to lose weigh nor exercising.

            So then you add our exercising to that and we have more muscle mass on the way back down then we did on the way up at the same weight. Which also means we have less fat oin the way back down too.

            Fat is a very fluffy molucle and protein is a very dense one so exchanging them pound ofr pound and you willsee you are healthier skinnier at the same weight.

            remeber our Atkins loss goals are body fat and should not be determined by a scale weight.

              2big, could you give any insight to the softness of the skin/cellulite/fat in the bellies, arms and legs? Thanks for that explanation, it does make sense.

                  I never had this softnes y'all are mentioning but them i never poked my legs either. it could be from the tension in the skin lessening as your underlaying fat tissues "deflate" and shed the fluids they were stuffed with. this is most likely what you are feeling if it comes and goes

                  It could be your muscles are growing and muscles are not smooth flat pieces of meat like a cut steak is but more like a series of rolling hills close together. different thigh muscles grow bigger in one area and not in another the layer of fat covering them will mold arouns them.being firmer over the larger muscle massand softer over the areas without the muscle mounds.

                    Joy, you look f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s! I'm right there with you... I've been 148 for 3 going
                    on 4 weeks....scale isn't moving. However....the body is changing. I look skinnier,
                    clothes are getting baggier....the keto strips remain trace to moderate.....
                    Must be doing something right.... Keep it up!

                      Thanks momo! That must have been a prelude to a whooshie...because last week I had a mega whooshie and got into onederland!!!

                      I'm still seeing changes in my body. The tape measure moved a little bit this week. I went last night and tried on my prom dress from my junior year in HS when I was SIXTEEN and it fits in the waist and hips, but I cant zip it up through my rib cage. Still, it was pretty darn cool! My jeans from high school are getting baggy in the butt too!! WOOHOO.

                            I have always thought this smaller size vs. heavier weight is mostly due to the WOE. We eat more protein than low-fat eaters which makes us more muscular. I say it is due to the WOE more because I became cut in my thighs just on the WOE (no exercise). When I exercised, I became more cut. Just a thought.

                              True that, I am now wearing a 13 and the scale hasn't budged. In fact it went up this week enough that I freaked! Now I KNOW I haven't deviated from my plan so its muscle building for sure cause the tape measure says GIRL, you are LOSING! No one believes my weight when I tell them, I look a much smaller weight than I am. At this rate, I may have to stop at 160 cause I don't want to be too skinny, I lose my boobs! Waaaaa

                              If it werent for the hair loss concerns, Atkins would be the perfect plan.

                                You look great. Your success story and pictures are really inspirational!!

                                I have had the same over the last two weeks, lost nearly 2" off my waist but no weight, plus my clothes are a lot, lot more roomy, although have only been on this plan for 6 weeks. I find it amazing and motivating. The scales are not my best friend at the moment anyway, I think the tape measure might become a better pal.
