  • What are you doing differently this time?

This time I am only weighing once a month, and it's making a HUGE difference in my attitude. The result is that I don't have those "plateaus" that get me down.

This time I am not using any Frankenfoods, specifically, no "lo-carb" or diabetic chocolate.

Similar to Waterbabe Helena, I'm not looking for substitutes for chocolate or sweetness, I got it out of my system and broke the habit. Also I keep a small packet of nuts with me and also remember to drink A LOT of water it does make a difference.

I'm taking regular exercise much more seriously. I'm steering clear of the frankenfoods... actually easier to do this time around as there aren't a lot of them available anymore in my area and probably for very good reasons.

I'm exercising more and using ediets.com to track my food intake, exercise and weight.

I'm also more determined this time, because I KNOW I can do it as I've done it before, and I know what results to look foreward to

              Exercising.
              Using fitday.
Eating my veggies too instead of just meat, eggs and cheese.

I did this one time eating nothing but cottage cheese and hot dogs. I actually lost weight but bleah!

                1. I'm more religious about my water consumption.
                2. I'm taking my vitamins regularly.
                3. Most importantly, I'm WALKING on my treadmill several times a week. HUGE DIFFERENCE!!
                4. I'm also weighing and peeing on the sticks more.

I lost a bunch and have added only a little, but I'm greedy. I want more off. This time, I know it works, so I've got more confidence.

                      1. Drinking water.
                      2. Exercising (I can't believe I'm a "runner" now).
                      3. Not taking scale weight so seriously.
                      4. Taking my measurements.
                      5. Not eating crappy frankenfoods.
                      6. Cooking, cooking, cooking.
                      7. Experimenting with weird produce (like chayote squash and celeriac).
                      8. Eating copious vegetables. Eating fruits regularly.
                      9. Climbing the OWL rungs.
                      10. Not telling people I'm on Atkins unless they ask me about how I'm losing weight first.
                      11. Doing research on weight loss, metabolism, fitness, and nutrition to supplement my lifestyle change.
                      12. Listening to my actual physical hunger, rather than my head "hunger."
                      13. Measuring foods for quite a while before I start "eyeballing" them.
                      14. Being mindful of my portion sizes. My eyes really are bigger than my stomach!
                      15. Keeping a positive attitude.
                      16. Enjoying the journey rather than obsessing over the destination.
                      17. Only buying a few pieces of clothing at a time and at discounted prices until I get closer to my goal weight.
                      18. Taking my vitamins every day.
                      19. Eating adequate fiber in my diet without supplements and reaping the benefits.
                      20. Feeling like this is something I WANT to do, rather than something I HAVE to do.
No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

                      Vigilance, not perfection.
