Re: I fell like I am destined to stay this weight forever

You know, I've been going through the same dilemma, thinking I was striving for a "magical" number on the scale, and wondering if it would ever change again. I, at one time, was ten pounds less than I am just now.

However - I've started weight training, I've started running, I did military Basic Training. I have to forgive myself and the scale for not telling me what I want to hear.

My clothes fit as well as they did when I was ten pounds less, so the scale must be the demon here. I must have displaced the fat with muscle, making up the weight difference.

Someone else said back in a previous post - "what if you stay this way forever"

Well, I started to think about that, as well. Although all the height/weight charts tell me otherwise, I am sure I am healthy and well.
If the scale doesn't change, BUT I stay the same size, then I will be satisfied.
If I can get stronger and do more, I will be satisfied.
If nothing changes, I will be satisfied.

I have accomplished wonderful things, and they are not all with regard to numbers on the scale.

I have watched your progress. I was actually jealous of you for accomplishing so very much more than I ever had to do. I felt like my loss was absolutely nothing compared to your phenomenal journey.

I cannot imagine all the bumps your journey has put you through, but I certainly can applaud you for everything you've done, and all the consistent posting of your journal, your work out, and even your photos. They have been a constant encouragement to more people than you probably will ever realize.

Re: I fell like I am destined to stay this weight forever

Hang in there! I know all about the stalls, I've had several that lasted 3-6 months.

Something I've learned even recently is that some foods that never stalled you before might now cause you issues, which is why it is still important to carefully track what you are eating and frequently review your menu. And occasionally change things up a bit.

Caffeine may been doing that for you. Good luck with cutting that out. Also look for other potential stallers too.

Then there are just times when you are losing inches and building muscle that keeps that scale from moving too.

I'm right with you with the frustration.

              Stay strong!
