  • For Those Retaining Water...

Just a thought for those of you (myself included) who have trouble retaining water, a really good way to get some relief (at least temporarily) is to go swimming! You need to go in the deep end and keep your body under except for your head until you feel like peeing.

I knew about this when my OB/Gyn told me to do it during both my pregnancies since I retained lots of water during each of them. I rolled my eyes and said "sure, the nearest pool is 20 miles away, I will go everyday, doc!"

But really, if you have trouble with water retention and you can get to a pool regularly, it really helps.

Thanks for the tip! Not that I am anywhere near a pool right now, either - but it's always nice to have another nice, shiny tool at my disposal to keep me going on this journey.

You are welcome! I did try it during my pregnancies and it really worked well. I believe it works due to the water's surrounding pressure on your tissues. That is a guess, however.

*vows to jump in the pool after work tonight and stay there*

I've definitely got some excess water hanging around that I'd like gone.
