  • Take Control Week (kind of a CHALLENGE!!)

I decided that due to all the stuff going on in my life to do a TAKE CONTROL week. I will make a TO DO list of all the crap that I've shoved to the side while dealing with the doctor's visits/treatment plans/life/kids/work/weight loss. I'm normally a very organized person, but I've been putting a lot on the back burners lately. I put this in my journal (in journal chats) then decided to open up the Take Control week to all fellow Atkineers.

I made a to do list of all the stuff I want to get done. I'd originally given myself a week to get it all done. That was a bit short on time. SO, I've extended my time period to get the following items done now that I'm 100% focused on doing this properly!)

    TAKING CONTROL Week (s):

As of one week ago, I pledged myself to get in charge of the items that have been slipping thru my fingers lately. The kids/hubby were put on notice that Mommy is ready to GO:

1.) Continue to do Atkins Induction.UPDATE: Done so far!

2.) Clean out kids clothes, closets, toys, my closet, drawers, kitchen cabinets, pantry, freezer, fridge, back porch, laundry room, filing cabinet, shed, under my kitchen sink, and either store properly, put on Ebay the sellable items, or freecycle the rest. Prod Hubby to do his clothes/shoes. UPDATE: Done Dalton, Katelynn, playroom, attic, and Darrin's rooms. (Huge 12 garbage bags for yard sale/ebay/freecyclers so far). Got into it a bit more than expected. Did 100% of toys, clothes, attic.

3.) Detail my Durango inside and out. UPDATE: Done the Durango. Took 3 hours (a family of gerbils could have lived in there for a year on all the crumbs from the kids!!). Power wash the stroller/car seats and sit in sun to dry.

4.) Weed the flower beds and finish the kids play area. Give some mint to the lady next door as she's been asking for some to make mint tea. Make mint tea for myself. UDATE: Pulled some mint and made mint tea. Still need to do kids play area.

5.) Get the bank rec. done and all the bills paid up to date.UPDATE: Bank rec done and all bills paid (all that I could with the $$ I had!!)

6.) Wipe the walls down where little fingerprints are making marks. Windex bottom of windows where little fingerprints seem to grow. UPDATE: Done the rooms above. Still need to finish up rest of house.

7.) Scrub the floors in bathroom/entryway/kitchen, possibly wax them if necessary, and steam clean the carpets in the hallway and living room. Saving until all rooms are done

8.) Exercise every day. UPDATE: Done so far!

9.) Play with kids and have FUN. Kiss and hug them and hubby so they know I love them for helping me thru this bullcrap.UPDATE: Done so far!

10.) Call the doctors every day until I get the results from the testing done on Friday...resolve myself to becoming a PIA until I get what I need.UPDATE: Done. Surgery/Biopsy scheduled.

Anyone want to join me on the extended week of Taking Control? We're already working so hard on losing weight...why not focus on the rest of our lives as well?

Anyway, if you'd like to join me, post your list and then just come back in and edit your post with the updates. This will hold me (and you!!) accountable for getting things done in our lives. Not only will we be thinner, we'll be organized as well.

I figured if I gave myself more than 10 items to do overall, that I'd get overwhelmed. Where's your list at????
