  • Papayas

    They are absolutely one of the healthiest fruits. What have been your experiences with them in terms of their sugar? Anyone eat them regularly?

    Yummy! Yes I love them and I've put a slightly different twist on my dieting and it has not affected me negatively at all. Thank God. (Hopefully I won't get booted for still loving fruit) j/k No I agree with you on the healthy benefits of papaya and also I don't think people realize how healthy coconuts are. Young Coconut water is fabulous! Did you know that coconut water has the same properties and nutrients of a blood transfusion and in an emergency can actually be injected as a form of insulin. You should look it up. You would be amazed at the Nutritional value of coconuts. Glad it's in the "Nut" category. I usually limit myself to one young coconut a week, but I've experimented with eating fruits before noon and drinking about 40 ounces of water and then at noon I'll have egg whites or somethin protein based and then I work out for 30 to 45 minutes. I get the rest of my water in through out the afternoon and evening. I try to limit my fruit intake to morning and prior to work out. I know Atkins limits fruit intake especially during induction, but I feel as long as you don't overdo it, with proper exercise and adherence, you can pull off the benefits of Fruit. Just remember to keep portion size reasonable and don't overdo it.

      Before Atkins, eating papaya was a good way to keep me regular.

      When I got to the fruits rung of OWL, I tried to reintroduce them and ate a cup a day. I gained back 5 lbs. in a week. Ugh.

        I am on maintenance and eat at least 3 pieces of fruit daily. Papaya is a wonderful little fruit. Great for digestion!
