  • Saggy Stomach, Please Help!

Hey everyone im a 5'5 male, i used to be around 14 stone 9 months ago now im 9.5 stone. I was hoping for a more toned stomach but it just looks saggy

Here are some pictures of me ..

    1. This is the problem, my skin is now slack due to all the weight loss. This is me bending over into a mirror and took a picture. When i bend down like this my stomach just weighs and it looks awful.

    5. if i workout my stomach e.g. a full ab workout will i be able to life the higher ab muscles in my stomach to make my stomach appear thinner?
This is an example of what i mean, where im holding the top of my ab muscles.

Do you think i need surgry to fix my problem?
Should i loose more weight to fix my problem?
Should i tone up .e.g full ab workout?

    Please any suggesstions

Since excess skin is the problem, a full ab workout will help a bit, but now enough to solve the problem.

You didn't say how old you are, but if your skin still has full elasticity, the good news is your skin will eventually shrink back to accomodate your new shape. The bad news is that it may take up to seven years.

I think the best option is to consult a doctor about surgery or other options.

It's unfortuantly most likely stretched skin. Not too much you can do unless you get it removed. Over time you might get some elestisity back, but chances are, it won't be the way it was...
I have the same porblem, and alot of others do too.

If you work you ab muscles, you may bulk up enough to fill-out some of the skin . But you really can't work the skin itself.

Also the catch 22 is if you lose more weight, it MIGHT get worse.

This is just my opinion though, everyone's body react differently.

From what I can tell from your pics, there is still some room for improvement in getting leaner. Your skin isn't terribly stretchy, it looks like it has good elasticity and will snap back in several months, but it also looks like you will get great results from working out, too. There is a particular kind of look that skin has when it's just DONE, I don't know exactly how to describe it, but I know it when I see it, but yours doesn't look like it would need surgery.

Of course, I'm a gym FREAK and encourage EVERYONE to work out hard, regardless . You have the advantage of being MALE, and men generally get BIG results very quickly from weightlifting/cardio.

Find an activity that challenges your body, that you love, and work it for a few months, then re-evaluate.

          I agree with becca
You still have some fat there. Now this isn't a rip its a compliment! It means that your tummy will improve most likely. The stomach holds the most fat of all areas and it is the absolute last area to release. There is fat over your muscles. Are you working those abs? Get a good ab program rolling. You need to work upper, lower and latteral abs. Get that core nice and strong. Do some research for a good ab program. Are you taking a supplement such as CLA?

Sorry about not mentioning my age, im 18

My body mass index is 19.5 and i could safley drop that to 18.5, thats what i plan to do through a steady diet and a lot of workout focusing on my ab region.

All I can say is I feel your pain! I am facing the same problem. I have consulted a plastic surgeon and am considering a tummy tuck. There is no way for me that I can get it to stretch back. Although I have had several preganancies, which you obviousally have not so that is in your favor! Keep up the great work!
