Re: Dying for a crispy Crunchy snack !!

    Hi there~
I took the following directly from the nutriton label on a box of Kellogg's Corn Flakes
    Serving size - 1 cup (28 g)

    Total Carbohydrate: 24 g
    Dietary Fiber: 1 g
    Sugars: 2 g
    Other Carbohydrate: 21 g

Pork rinds (in moderation, of course) and celery come to mind for a bit of crunch.

    Hope this helps

According to their website the first few ingredients are sugar and high fructose corn syrup. So no, these wouldn't be a good crunchy snack.

If you're craving crunchy how about pork rinds, pepperoni chips (place in a single layer on papertowel and nuke until crunchy) or frying some cheese? There are recipes in the cooking section for flax crackers and other crunchy items that aren't loaded in sugar.

You could fry up some pepperoni - they get really crispy. Oh and, small amounts of shreded cheese fried can make a wonderful "chip" if you will for dipping.

Just be careful to NOT go overboard. These should be eaten in moderation. The sodium count is pretty high.

          Hope this helps

Fired Kale is a good light crunch snack too.

As suggested pepperoni chips, I do mine in the microwave about 2 mins on high.

              Fried cheese is excellent.

I love flax crackers made with flax, parmesean, water and fennel seeds, I usually sprinkle a little salt on the tops and then spread them with something like homemade pimento cheese.

Re: Dying for a crispy Crunchy snack !!

I have cheated and had Fiber One when I was having bathroom problems. It tastes like hay, but after going without sugar for soooo long it actually starts to taste sweet. Even still it has 11 carbs in 1/2 cup (if I did my Carb Math correct). So I guess if you really cut it to 1/4 cup you may be able to cut carbs to 5.5. I would only go this route in moderation and try to stick to the other recommended snacks.

Just remember, eating any cereal has to be done on the correct rung!

Wouldn't want any newbie on induction to get the wrong idea that they could eat 5.5g of fiber one on induction as long as it counted for their 20g a day

The boxes here say "fat free" "energy" and "Per Serving 2 G SUGAR" on the front, not 2 G CARBS. Perhaps that is where the confusion is coming from??? Anyway, you've gotten lots of good crunchy suggestions, so I would say stay away from the corn flakes and its high-fructose corn syrup.
