  • 5 pounds from goal.....my tip!

I am so close to my goal weight and it feels great!
I wanted to share what I think was one of the best
things I did to help me loose weight.

    Eat a big breakfast!

I never ate breakfast before this WOE and had to make
myself do it--But I am glad I did because I filled up in the
mornings and this lasted through out the day with very
small meals in between. If you are not doing this...try it!

Re: 5 pounds from goal.....my tip!

I had relatives who were farmers and lead a "farmer" lifestyle. They would get up early (like at 4 AM) do some chores, had a small snack like a cup of coffee and a bowl of oatmeal, do more chores until breakfast (around 8 AM). Breakfast was "big"--eggs, some kind of meat, some kind of bread (muffins or flapjacks, etc.). Then off to do more chores. The big meal was the noon meal---some kind of meat, veg, salad if it was in season, some kind of starch (potatoes, rice or noodles), some kind of bread. More chores, then a small snack around 4: 30. Then more chores. The evening meal was called "supper" and was around 7 PM. It was lighter, usually soup, cold leftovers or a casserole made from the leftovers.

I don't do as many "chores" as they did and the ones I do aren't half as strenuous (like mucking animal pens, chopping/hauling wood, dragging animal feed 3/4 mile both ways or walking around the farm several times daily). So eating a big breakfast and a big noon meal isn't practical for me. On weekends and vacation, my noon meal is the largest meal of the day. Breakfast and supper are smaller meals with supper being the lightest meal of the day.

I think it makes more sense to have the breakfast or lunch "large" and supper smaller. Let's face it....if you eat more substantial meals earlier in the day, that gives you at least 12 or until your bedtime to use up that food energy. If your evening meal is the largest meal, you may have about 4 or 5 hours to use up that energy.
