    Evidence that scales are STUPID

    OK, yesterday evening the bathroom scale got moved to the other side of the bathroom. Just for kicks, I stepped on it there this a.m. Was very happy with the whoosh. Moved it back to it's "normal" spot.

    2 lbs difference. Not kidding.

    Moved it back to wrong spot. 2 lbs lower.

    Moved it home. 2 lbs higher.

    SO DUMB. Stay off the scale. Your clothes tell a much truer story!!!
    What is it, a RACE? It's coming off, right????

    How weird is that!!! Maybe the floor is slightly uneven in one of the spots?! I dont know how else to explain it! Hopefully someone can

    Did Atkins on and off from Feb 2005 until April 2008. Fluctuated between 15 st 1/211lbs and 11 st 1/155lbs.
    On different weightloss programme from 28th May 2008 start weight 14 st 11/207lbs.
    Current weight 10st 3lbs/143lbs.
    Ultimate Goal Weight 9 st/126lbs.

      Hey Denise! I know what you mean - my scale has a mind of its own . . . hence why it has been relegated to the closet!

      Our clothes are definitely a better indication of how we are doing!

        Uneven floor.....if you lean a little more to the front of the scale it will show more...if you lean more on your heels it will show less....its probably some little freaky thing like that.

          You moved your scale across the room? You're brave! LOL I wouldn't move mine 2 inches! Although, since it was 2 pounds in your favor, I'd leave it there! LOL

              I am such a scale whore, but you're right.... they are STUPID! I'm up 2 lbs right now, but my jeans fit better, go figure. I chalk it up to having been lifting weights so much. Go muscle mass!

                I'm thinking, put it back where it was at the lowest. Yeah, and I believe in fairies, mermaids, and cute pirates.

                  They really are dumb. I've weighed on 4 different scales within 1 hour's span and seen a range of 13 pounds. Some can't even decide what they think you weigh, like try putting your weight on the outside edges of your feet, then the inside. Strike that, reverse it, if you want to lose weight!

                    Well, I've pushed the scales all over the bathroom and all around the house and dammit that needle didn't move.
                    Am gonna try standing with one foot on and the other on a chair.

                    Just kidding of course, isn't it great when you don't dread the scales any more.
                    Still looking forward to my next whoosh.

                        I was happy to find out my scale was weighing me 10 pounds to heavy from a trip to the doctor....too bad I can't find another doctor to tell me its weighing me too heavy again! lol

                          Go to any laboratory that uses scales for critical weight measurements, and you will find that the scales must be calibrated or zeroed before each use with known standard weights in order to assure accurate measurements.

                          Do you calibrate your bathroom scales with known weights?

                            I think I'm going to calibrate mine with a hammer. It's got an date with the trash can. Dumb thing.
