    Oat Bran

Any recipes using only oat bran as a flour substitute (or oat flour)? PErhaps an oat bran pancake or muffin? How long would you cook/bake with oat flour/bran?

    Re: Oat Bran

Oat flour is just finely ground oats. Oat bran is the outer-covering of the oat. So they have different cooking properties and different carb counts. Oat bran has a higher carb count than wheat bran, which is partly why it's not one of the recommended fiber substitutes.

Unless you're allergic to wheat, I really don't see the point in using either as a wheat flour substitute because their carb counts are very similar.
