Re: Having Trouble Drinking Your Water?

That is a GREAT POST! WOW! I chugged 16 oz of water while I read it!

This one paragraph from the link above is reason enough to read the whole post:

<<Water suppresses the appetite naturally and helps the body metabolize stored fat. Studies have shown that a decrease in water intake will cause fat deposits to increase, while an increase in water intake can actually reduce fat deposits.
Here's why: The kidneys can't function properly without enough water. When they don't work to capacity, some of their load is dumped onto the liver. One of the liver's primary functions is to metabolize stored fat into usable energy for the body. But, if the liver has to do some of the kidney's work, it can't operate at full throttle. As a result, it metabolizes less fat, more fat remains stored in the body and weight loss stops>>

PS - I drink so much water since I started this WOE, I feel like I have dry mouth all the time on Atkins! I got up to pee 3 times last night and I drank more water everytime I got up too!

I have been drinking 2 litres a day since this WOE but since last week I've upped it to 3 litres, still peeing lots!

Hey kids! Yep, water is definitely our friend. However, to avoid the late night trips to the bathroom, have your last glass of water at 7 or 8 p.m. I've found that this really helps limit my running down the hall in my jammies!

Also, instead of chugging your water, try to drink a few swallows at a time. Let's say that 20 oz glass should last you a hour (well, that works for me!). That way, your body isn't overwhelmed and sending you to the potty every 15 seconds. Also, by spacing out your water intake, your body can assimilate and use the hydration more effectively. And that's what it's all about, right?

Drink drink drink -- just do it wisely!!!!

            Thanks for that post!

Lately, must be the heat, I'm drinking water like it's going out of style. I drank 2 bottles (16.9oz each) while doing my 1.5 miles on the treadmill this morning...had to immediately get off moments after I finished. lol.

Stacy, thanks for the info on how you stop drinking water in the evening. I'm drinking water most of the evening out of avoiding late evening/night snacking...so far its working, but then there's those early morning trips.

Re: Having Trouble Drinking Your Water?

Well, in the past few weeks my water consumption has gone from getting in a few cups a day (struggling to get in those eight 8 oz cups) to about 10 or 11 cups per day without struggle!

                I'm so excited!!
