    Re: Diet Soda

It may not affect you in the beginning, but it may later down the road. It didn't bother me at first either. Now I have to watch my intake. Everyone is different. I love Diet Coke, but when I really stop and think about it, there isn't anything healthy about it. I usually don't drink it anymore, but once in awhile it hits the spot.

Everything in moderation.... As long as it causes you no adverse effects, Enjoy (diet) Coca Cola!

I try to only have one a day. Usually I make myself drink all my water first too!

What about Splenda and Crystal Lite? I have crystal lite all day long. I'm like addicted to the stuff. Isn't that horrible, soda was easy to give up. Tell me if I need to give up the good stuff. Because I have gone over the book with a fine tooth comb and I haven't seen anything, but it is like 3 years old. I am going on my 5th day of the induction without cheating!! What a child, but I am so proud of myself. Its hard to do this diet alone, but having you folks out there makes it so much easier for me. I need to know about the drink stuff, because I am going camping tomorrow (with 30 kids) and I hate plaine old water!
Thanks for the input... you guys rock! CRYSTAL LITE

We have to count the carbs for both the Splenda and Crystal light. Each packet of Splenda is a carb and we're limited to 3 a day. Just be careful and don't have too many.

Personally - I find all of these crutches are a real challenge. I have a splenda in a cup of coffee or tea as a treat - once in a while. Diet sodas can trigger huge cravings in me. Frankly, I stick to green tea & water as my primary fluid intakes. Try it.

Despite the good Dr. Atkins admonitions, I also have a cup of espresso in the mornign. Dr. A said this was bad because it might trigger sugar cravigns. If it doesn't, I don't see the harm.

But diet sodas have so much going on in the chemically that I just don't trust'em.

Try to drop them if you can. Drink the green tea.

              Good Luck!!
