  • Like the Prodigal Son I have returned...

    Hi All.

So sorry for my extended leave of absence here. I had a death in the family at the beginning of July that prompted a trip back to L'il Rhody for the funeral, then two days after my return I got dumped by my employers for "not being a good fit". No discipline, no feedback...just "sorry about your loss! by the way...this isn't working out". They did it in the midst of a going away party for two other coworkers which subsequently really upset the friends I had made there. Something was amiss about the whole thing, but I won't waste time hating them for it.
I stayed basically on plan the entire time, stepping to Maintenance for the trip to RI. My weight loss, as you can see, is still slow. I've dropped two pounds since I last posted here.
Anyway, I'm back. I did miss you. Thank you to those who expressed concern (angelstar and heidi). Sorry to just drop off the face of the planet like that...there are just sometimes you don't feel like posting...ya know?

Oddly what I wanted most when I got really upset? Blueberries and whipped cream!
Go me and my non conformist cravings! The toughest part (food wise) was the post funeral feast. We returned to my aunt and uncles house and all the folks from their church had really put out a lovely spread...of cake and brownies and sandwiches and pasta salad...
I ate some beans that someone brought, picked the salami and provolone out of my mothers pasta salad and attacked the edible fruit arrangement that was sent by the Providence FOP. My only "cheat" that day was my quick breakfast of low carb whole grain bread toast with peanut butter.
Oddly I lost 4lbs while I was there. But gained it all back upon my return (like they dropped off the plane somewhere over Nebraska on the flight out and we just picked them up again on the way back). I re-lost two of those pounds in the past week and a half though...so yay for that!

It is great to hear you are still on the Atkins wagon, Erin!

Congratulations on sticking with the WOE throughout your recent problems.

Now where did I put those fatted calf steaks?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
