  • So close to goal and now this...

So over the last week I've found that I've not only not lost weight, but gained 2 lbs back...I went from 188-190! Mind you, I haven't cheated, haven't added any new foods...things have been pretty much status quo...

What I'm wondering is...could my new job be the problem? Before I was just walking for exercise...I have been promoted at work to Mail, Shipping, Distribution and Supply Clerk which has me regularily carting around 40-70lb boxes, climbing 2 flights of stairs 5x a day (5 days a week) and ontop of that I've continued my walking schedule....could my new duties at work be acting like a new exercise regime to my body? I know changing exercise can cause one to stall or temporarily gain weight...so I'm hoping that that's just the problem

When you stress your muscles but good, they hold water while they flush toxins. Dollars to low carb donuts you are retaining water, which will come off when your body adjusts to the new workload.

With the extra workload you could be gaining some muscle. Bonus!!

Exercise is crucial to this WOL... I'd say that if your job has you hoppin' then that's a really good thing! Personally I have found that the scale is not my friend, but the tape measure is. If I'm losing inches and/or toning up muscles, then who cares what the scale says. Keep up the good work!

And Mom is right... muscles weigh more than fat. Could be you're getting.... buff?

Thanks for all the info! My mind is more at ease now...was strange that I've never stalled or gained before and had me a little worried! Glad it's most likely just temporary.

          Thanks again!
