  • Aspertame wall

    Hey there all,

I just want to say that I found out the hard way of using aspertame products. I understand that it doesn't affect everyone but it sure did with me. I was loosing right on track but then I started drinking diet pepsi and for two weeks I was stuck at or gaining lbs!!! boy was I in a funk. Then I re-read some of the FAQs about Atkins diet and cut out all the aspertame products. Bingo, back on track and feeling good to figure that bump before I went batty.

So, if any of you are stuck and use aspertame products. Think about trying a few weeks without it. Perhaps this is the problem. I really believe that is exactly what happenend with my diet.

Boy this is the only time I really Like to Loose. haha.. Enjoy

That happens to me too. I love Diet Pepsi and when I was drinking a lot of it my weight didn't budge. That never used to make sense to me... it was diet and calorie free.

When I have to have something sweet now (like that mock danish!), I stay under the 3-a-day limit and I'm not having any problems.

I bet I used to drink 12 Diet Pepsi's a day thinking it wasn't hurting me. Wrong!

The best thing you can do is cut out the diet soda. Between the asperteme and caffiene, it is not worth it. Your body will thank you later!

I only drink water and de-caf tea. No alcohol or anything, and the rewards are worth it!

      Good luck

There is a great deal of evidence with studies that shows artificial sweeteners actually hinder your weight loss a great deal more than claims. As well, phosphoric acid leaches calcium from your bones. Dr. Mercola has a book coming out soon titled Sweet Deceptions. You can pre-order it at amazon.com.
I don't trust Splenda either. The chlorination process keeps me away!

          Re: Aspartame wall

I used to swill a lot of Aspartame products ever since my weight watchers days.

I managed to cut the addiction when I did boot camp here in Feb.

But I still hav ethat pressure and occasionally endulge.

Unfortunately I find that I get an instant headache when I drink this swill. No fial - everytime now!

That's not good! It shows me some dodgey stuff is going on!

Very good observation Dave. You went pure and when re-introduced your body was sensitive enough to detect that feeling. Unfortunately, so many people eat so many processed foods and complicate that with life stresses.....most don't realize it's the chemicals that are making them ill, tired, achey.....etc.
