Keep a food diary, either on paper or use fitday. It helps to see in black and white exactly how much we are really eating.

Shop only the perimeter of the grocery store, fresh whole foods!

Make sure you got some emergency food with you at all times, like a baggy of nuts or strips of celery, pieces of cauliflower etc when you go to meetings or get-togethers outside your house, so there will be less chance that you get hungry and fall for 'one bite' of 'forbidden fruits'

Make this a lifestyle change for your family too! No more their food and my food!

It's a great opportunity to get rid of all of the junk food in the house and teach them the right way to eat, whole foods.

Don't stress over the 1-2 lb weight shifts over the course of a day...they are the food and water you are using/eating/voiding.

Don't go to extremes. Don't become absolutely carb phobic! Learn where the right and the wrong carbs come from.

Try new foods and recipes...experiment. If you eat plain meat, eggs, and cheese all the time you might get tired of it.

Stay positive! Don't worry about how fast the weight comes off! Take this time to learn all about your relationship with food and make sure this is a permanent change.
No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

Experiment with the low carb recipe sites to find your new favorite foods. Understand that food and cooking can still be fun and pleasureable again even though you might initially be pushed out of your comfort zone.

                            This is a great thread!

Focus on what you CAN have on this WOL, not what you CAN NOT have. You can have so much more luxurious food on Atkins than you could on any other plan...and it's hard to feel sorry for yourself because your friends are having McDonalds and you're having Filet Mignon or Lobster with real butter!!
