It says in the book to avoid drinks with aspartame during induction. Why? I ask because I bought soem sparkeling water and it has it in. Just curious about the reason?

Dr. Atkins found that for a percentage of his patients at the Atkins Center, aspartame stopped or slowed their weight loss if they used it in "excessive" amounts. According to DANDR 1992, he defined "excessive" as 3 or more servings daily.~Megs~
