    Will Seasonle Birth Control Pills Slow My Loss on Atkins??????????????

    Hello All,

    I am new. I have completed one day on atkins. I was given Seasonle Birth Control pills by my doc. I have a 6mth old son and want to get the weight off. But I heard that birth control pills make you gain weight. Is that true? I heard that some contain sugar. Is that true? Will it stop me from losing at a decent rate or stop it all together? I am 5'4 and 280, I can't afford to gain any more!

    I put on a few pounds with Seasonale, but it went to all the right places. Your mileage may vary.

      Ive been on hormonal BC pills for nearly a year. Today Im 45 pounds lighter then when I started 1-9-06. I even asked my gyno about it last year when I was goingon the pills about weight gain and she said that shes had girls lose a significant amount of weight even on hormonal pills. I wouldnt worry about it.

      10/03/06- Im in a size 14 jean!!!!
      (Modified OWL-moving up rungs for convenience when travelling, keeping carbs moderate)
      Foods I cannot have-
      Black beans.- instant headache and upset belly.
      spaghetti squash mixed with tomatoes- ravenous


      I Made it!!!! TWICE!!!! (10/06 and 1/07!!!)

        Yes, Tired! My sister complained of exactly that. Every woman is different. However, it is important to note that I did lose weight (albeit with effort on Atkins and exercise!) while on Ortho Tri-Cyclen 5 years ago. Seasonale, I have been on since only this year.           You know I haven't used this form of birth control but I did do Depo Provera shots that everyone complains causes weight gain and i did gain weight when I was not watching my diet but I lost all 65 pounds while on the DEpo Provera shot and the first 40 pounds in 4 months so it is totally possible...now I had my tubes tied.

            Ok... Sorry to bring back this thread again but I was just curious about it since I will be going on it soon...

            I have spoken to many women about birth controll and I have heard of it making them gain weight, lose weight, or no difference. I am going to be on Loestrin 24 FE... If anyone has been on this before and can offer me some insight, that would be greatly appreciated

            If it is slowing my weight loss... I will just have to work harder!

              I started Yaz last cycle and I didn't notice a change...I still lost the same amount of weight last month as I did the month before I started the Pill.
