    Re: shift workers???

With unpredictable shift work you really can't plan much so I wouldn't even try! The best thing you can do is workout when you can. I'm getting ready to start back on a job that require 10-12 hr shifts and between my family and general life stuff it's all about making time. I find myself looking at my normal routines and asking what can I do to make this work for me exercise wise. Sometimes it's as simple as parking at the back of the parking lot when running into a store or taking all the stairs you can. Pretty much anything can be made into a workout with imagination. Otherwise the only answer is you have to make time. Sometimes I have my 18 mo. old clinging to my leg and everything else going crazy but my workout time is important and critical to me so I make it necessary as taking a shower, brushing my teeth and sleeping. I don't always have time but I make it somehow lol! Hope this helps!

I work shifts, right now 6pm -2:30 am. I find that I have to arrange my day around work. With this shift I pretty much operate opposite a "normal" day. I go to bed around 3am and get around 10am. I eat breakfast and workout. No matter what shift I'm working i workout when I get up because then I can't put it off. I also try to keep my schedule consistent on days off so I'm not exhausted. I also cook extra foos when I can so I have it to bring to work.
