  • Sweating

For some reason I have been sweating excessively for the past two days. IT isn't hot or humid here so it can't be due to that. IS excessive sweating a sign of low blood sugar? I have never had this problem before. I'm 5'8 and weigh 120 lbs. I restarted induction recently to get down to my goal of 117 lbs (weight I am most comfortable with). PLEASE anyone tell me what is going on with all this sweating THANKS. You guys are awesome btw.

    Re: Sweating

Sweating is your body's way to release heat in order to regulate body temperature. See your doctor because excessive sweating can be a symptom of a more serious medical condition.

DITTO has nothing to do with eating a low carb diet and certainly worth checking out that is for sure ...

120lbs seems very light for someone who is 5' 8". Are you sure that wasnt a typing error?

I could be wrong, but did a quick check on the internet about ideal weights. Here's what I found when I "Googled" the words: Ideal weight

          http://www.healthstatus.com/iwc.html

According to your height of 5' 8" your ideal healthy weight is 140 pounds. Your recommended weight range is between 131 and 164 pounds.

Is it possible your body is trying to tell you something?

              Re: Sweating

I have VERY small bones. I seriously have the wrist of a 5 year old. At this weight none of my bones stick out so I'm fine. Most of my life I have fluctuated between 110 and 140. 140 is a very reasonalbe weight for my height but with my structure, even at 130 I start getting rolls. lol. My bones don't like fat. Anyway, the sweating is probably a thyroid or hormonal thing I guess. I'll see my doctor later this week. BUT are you guys sure it isn't a sugar imbalance. Don't people with low blood sugar or hypoglycemia sweat a lot.

How do I post my pictures?

                    Re: Sweating

Totally agree with Heidi, there are alot of medical reasons for excessive sweating. So your best bet (for your general health) is to see your doctor.

Yeah, sure you can blow it off and say, "yeah, it's just my low blood sugar". While that rationalization might make you feel better, it might delay you seeing a doctor and getting a proper diagnosis. By the way, low blood sugar has its own dangerous results, so even that isn't something to take lightly.

...especially if you just suddenly start sweating excessively. If you always had, then fine. But if it just suddenly arrived, go see a dr!
