  • Almost back to my old ways

OK so I had a bit of a crazy night last night. I don't know what I was thinking. I ate 1/2 a pack of m&m's then moved on to some french fries and then I thought what the **** why not bake a cake. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!! Yes it's true I told myself I was fine the way I was and if I wanted to be fat so what. I have been doing great up to that moment. So I baked the cake had 2 pieces and went to bed. I woke up this morning with such a feeling of dread that I have slipped back into my old ways. I couldn't bear the thought of it so I just jumped back on the wagon today. I went 3 weeks without this kind of behavior and i was thinking what would make me say that to myself? I now realize that I had these new cream cheese pancakes and 1 carb syrup (recipe from the Suzanne Somers book) for dinner and they were really good. I may have found my first real trigger food. They tasted sooooo good just like real pancakes and the syrup was to die for. Almost as soon as I ate them I was craving real sugar. I never want to wake up like that again. It was horrible. I have been waking up every morning for the past 3 weeks feeling hopeful and energetic and i want to keep waking up like that. So I have a question.... Have any of you fallen off of the wagon like this? What did you say to yourself before you did it and how did you get back on? I am over that now and I hope I haven't hurt my weight loss this month too much. I am sure that I have lost more weight since my last weigh in but I am not stepping on the scale for about 2 more weeks just in case i did do damage with my slip I really don't want to see it on the scale.

Re: Almost back to my old ways

You did right by coming here, fessing up and getting right back on track. What's your other choice? To return to your old ways...and you already said you didn't want to do that.

Okay, so you know that you can't handle sweets yet. So, cut them out again. I quit smoking over a week ago, and I got side tracked somehow...by a supposed "low carb" food like you, and it has been trying to chip away at my self control.

Focus on the goal, see it in your mind and start eating the way that you KNOW will get you there. Go find something to do to occupy your mind...that really helps a lot. Go outside and exercise...get out of the house.

    You can do this!!!

I actually had a bad slip up today I was pouring the boys a bowl of Cereal and THEN I gobbled like a whole BIG bowl myself and I was doing so good for like a week no cheating. I started back on the wagon right after that with lunch had a steak and salad. But OMG I felt so bad and I don't know what happened. Well Back on the wagon and trying to go for the long trip.
