Just use this as a learning experience. Like Lyssie advised, you're not looking for that good old "full" feeling...you're eating to satisfy only. So, don't start with a big bowl, start with a custard cup, eat slowly and let some time go by before you refill the bowl...if you decide to refill the bowl.
It's a relearning process, learning what an adequate portion is takes some time, so starting with the smaller servings and using time will help until your head and tummy align with each other!
I may. It was only 4 carbs total but with feeling sooooo full, I wondered if it might cause a blood sugar spike?
What was in your soup?
And 4 carbs won't cause a blood sugar spike...actually, if you ate the soup for lunch and continue spreading your remaining carbs throughout the day, you're doing great (and I'm assuming you're in Induction).
I have been doing this wonderful plan since Dec 31,2005. I have moved up the rung ladder for the most part, but still try to keep my carbs close to 20 per day. Soup was boiled chicken, onion, celery, cilantro and one can rotel. Honestly the whole pot was about 3 gallons.
I feel better now. I have to start being careful with portions. I get a little careless in that area. I just love my veggies.
