I woke up this morning with a killer headache and feeling nauseous. I went back to bed after seeing my family off to church. When I woke up again I needed something in my stomach so I had some clear chicken broth (from a cube) I Soooo wanted some saltines or noodles, but I resisted. I ended up having some chicken wrapped in lettuce - but not really what I wanted. I remember seeing some ideas for foods to eat when feeling sick, but I couldn't find the thread. Any suggestions? Thanks!

1/4 of oatmeal is about 12 grm.
Once slice of super-high-fiber bread can work.
If your stomach can do it - make a very light omelete. I find those help.
Where are you in this bit? Any chance you're in the midst of the Atkins flu? I'll kick back into it unexpectedly sometimes if I've had hidden carb.
Another thing that works for me is Lipton Tea, one pack of splenda, and some 1/2 & 1/2 or heavy cream in it.
Best of Luck!!

Re: Sick...
Sorry to hear you're sick!
It's hard to say what might sound good to you since you're nauseous.
But, possibly a cream soup, you could use whatever cooked veggie you like (cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus, celery) cook it in a cup of chicken broth. Then once tender, whir the whole thing in the blend and add a little cream and seasoning of your choice.
Other than that, maybe poached eggs...
Just make sure and keep drinking your water and stay hydrated and try to eat a little something to keep your strength up! Take care!Shelly

Re: Sick...
Thanks for the replies! I am feeling much better today - I have a history of migraines which have been hiding for a while I guess - I did have a bite of blackberry cobbler on Saturday - with sugar because I made it, never had it, and it looked so darned good. I had the tiniest bite - about 1/2 tsp. but I could really taste the sugar... and I didn't like it - it tasted very very overly sweet (only 1/2 cup of sugar in 9x9 pan) My husband on the other hand delcared that it was perfect!
I have been living the Atkins lifestyle for just over two months now and that was the first sugar I have had since June 19th. I have lost a total of 23 lbs so far and feel really good about myself!

Re: Sick...
Isn't it funny how our tastes change? I had one tiny slice of strawberry and thought, "omg, this is the sweetest strawberry I've ever had!!!" Later that week my dh cooked some manwich sloppy joes, I could even SMELL the sugar!!!!! DH is also a mountain dew freak, and switched to diet 3 months ago. He had one regular soda while we were on vac, and threw it away, claiming it was too sweet! I really like this part of the diet!5'4"/F/30

I'm sorry to hear that you were feeling sick but glad that ur much better!! I sometimes have days where I feel ill. Just try and keep up with drinking lots of water and it passes.
My tastes have definately changed, all soda seems waaaay too sweet. I also had some chilli a month or so ago, naughty me it was from a jar and I could taste the sugar in it. My homemade Atkins version is alot nicer!
