    Re: Scale Woes

Lyssie, be careful about becoming obsessed with losing weight and those numbers. I was obsessed this time last year and purt near imploded. I have a healthier attitude about dieting now and I don't allow the scale number to make or break me.

BTW, my hubby had to just come out and tell me to stop talking about my diet all the time (part of the obsession). It was driving him nuts. Now I only talk about it occasionally and tell him big losses. You may need to try that. I think I will start a thread about obsession...

      Re: Scale Woes

I weigh myself every morning, before I've eaten. I figure, that's my correct (and lowest ) weight. I dont' weigh myself throughout the day because I know the food, water and everyhthing will make it fluctuate. Sometimes I weigh myself in the evening, but that's once every now and then.

And I remember reading here that "weight loss is not linear"...I think it was a sticky note thread? It's good to have a calculated plan Lyssie, but your weight fluctuates throughout the day.

Ok. I am not obsessed with my weight. It cheers me up and keeps me going to see it be smaller than it was last month or last year and tells me that I'm doing good with keeping on course. The scale's in the closet, I haven't been on it since Monday morning. I also haven't had a cigarette since Friday which makes me lovely to be around. See? Absolutely no addictions left to torment me with.

You're quitting your carb AND nicotine addictions at the same time? Good job Lyssie, keep up the great work!
