  • some Q's?

    i have some questions

    i just started the atkins diet today

    how long can i be on the induction plan?

    how long would it take to me to lose around 50 pounds follwoing atkins?

    is the any thing good u guys reccomend that i can eat on this diet ?


    im sick of meat already

    any advice for starters ??

      Congrats on starting Atkins! Be sure and get the book, it will help tremendously.

      You can stay on induction indefinitely. It's at least 14 days but if you want to continue it certainly doesn't hurt you. And if you move up the rungs you can stand on any one rung for as long as you like. Some people move up from induction to the veggie rung and stay there indefinitely. It gives you a little more choices being able to have the extra veggies. Just do what you're comfortable with.

      And there's no way to tell you how long it would take to lose 50 pounds. It depends on your own metabolism, how much you exercise, etc. Everybody is different. But if you're faithful to the plan you'll be happy how quick it will come off.

      There's lots of good food you can eat... seafood, steak, a huge variety of veggies. Even on induction there are a lot of good choices.

        Not the ones at the fast food places. But you can make your own at home. Dip the chicken in egg and then coat in parmesan. It's very good.

          cristylp- thank you for your advice!! i hope to lose 50 pounds by the 2nd week of december..im not a fan of anything but chicken =( so right now im playing around with that..


          is salad with cheese and chicken a good idea during induction?

              It's perfect. Just watch your cheese amounts... don't go over 3 -4 ounces a day.

                      yes im seriously wanting to do this..right now i just started by reading the induction plan on the website..i plan on geting the book this weekend

                        ok if you are serious ...read the book ...read the FAQs everything people say here ...and relax it is not the end result that is as important as the fact you are making some serious changes in life ...good luck and welcome

                            Welcome, and I second the comments by Heidi (girl, you are *always* on the mark!!) Read the book, reread the book, follow it to the letter. No one can predict how fast you will lose the weight, but we can definitely say if you do it RIGHT, you will see results!
