  • Must Eat Carbs!! Help!!

    I am 6 days in and this is the point where I would literally eat any carb that is put in front of me, I so have a craving for just about everything except the "good" foods. I did Atkins last year and lost 100 but have not been doing it since thanksgiving last year. I was down to 212 but have crept back up to 245 and I must get down to 145 by this time next year no compromise so I must get back to this. I have tried since falling off the wagon last year but it seems I always get to this point and I cave. I am at work right now with mo place to eat anything other than the vending machines unless I can get hubby to bring me something. Any way just looking for some motivation and encouragement.

    If you can get your hubby to bring you good food, then do.

    Did you eat breakfast this morning? Do you normally pack a lunch and snack and forgot it this morning? If not, it's a GREAT idea to have an emergency stash for yourself. Something that can stay at your desk at work, your purse, your car (you get the idea).

    Not letting yourself get hungry is one of the biggest helps. So call hubby, quick!!

      I usually take a well planed lunch but I woke up way late today. I had some jerky stashed in my desk it just was not enuf to fill me up. I text messaged my hubby waiting for him to text back now. Thanks!

        Hang in there you will regret it if you cheat for vending food esp..

        You can beat this, just picture a thinner sexier you.

        Drink water if avail. Drink lots of water..

        And let this serve as a dreaded reminder to always have leagal items handy.. Keep us posted!!

          rememeber Atkins isn't about being full it is about feeding our hunger. the stretch receptors in the stomach have nothing to do with hunger! If you are not hungry and just wanting to be full drink water. then look at your menus and serving portions. turn doing as Dr Atkins recommends and only eatting part of what you normally think you need. stop and see if you are hungry if you are have the rest if not put it up knowing you can eat again as soon as you are hungry.
          Once you master feeding only your hunger and not belly space you will be able to better work your Atkins to morph your body to that healtheir smaller person you want.

            If you want some motivation....check out the b4 and after pic thread, that always inspires me. Coming on here when I get the urge to cheat helps alot.

            Put up piccies of urself at work when you were at ur heaviest. When ever ur tempted, look at the piccies and think...I dont want to be like that anymore. I want to be slimmer, fitter, healthier and sexier!

            Set goals, realistic ones. Just little treats (not food!) like maybe a manicure/pedicure, something that will make you feel girly, or buy urself a new top or something when you reach a goal. Set a nice big treat when you reach ur main goal!

            Prepare every meal and have snacks ready at work if you have a fridge you can bring in hard boiled eggs and cheese.


            26 yr 5'2 F
            Did Atkins on and off from Feb 2005 until April 2008. Fluctuated between 15 st 1/211lbs and 11 st 1/155lbs.
            On different weightloss programme from 28th May 2008 start weight 14 st 11/207lbs.
            Current weight 10st 3lbs/143lbs.
            Ultimate Goal Weight 9 st/126lbs.

              Thanks everyone.. Just so you know I did not breakdown my sis brought me a salad from subway. And I have been chewing on ice all day kinda helps me not crave so much. Again thanks everyone.
