  • Do I have the wrong book?

    I have the Dr atkins new diet revolution. Doesnt have a date. I was reading a post that mention food intolerance and said to see ch. 26. My book doesnt have a ch 26.


    has 5 parts and goes to ch 24 then has a menu and recipes. I also have the DANDR cookbook but havent gotten a chance to get into it much yet.

    If I dont have the right book can someone please tell me what a food intolerance is and how you get it? Something mentioned about if you eat the same thing over and over.

    yep that is the 1992 edition. we use the 2002 edition look inside for the copyright date and it should be 2002 for the latest one. some publishers that have rights to the 19192 book are publishing it again and will have a printing in 2002,2003, or even 2001 but the copyright for the old book will always say 1992.

      you can be born with a food intolerance or your body can develope one. it simply means when you consume that food your body has an adverse but not allergic reaction to it. We can develope food reaction by having the same food day after day and our immune system some how gets triggered by it but that is an allergic reaction.

          So will I be ok with this book or should I get the newer one?

          Also, that DANDR cookbook i have is WRONG! They have an induction 1 week mene in there that has fruit listed everyday in the menu! A few other things that are no-nos as well i believe. Thats strange!

            the best investment you can make is the $7 for a new 2002 version but they are hard to come by as Amazon only has the 1992 republished in 2001 right now.

            check out the induction forum and the FAQ as we have the food lists for induction and then the OWL forum for starting OWL. you will need the book cause the science and understanding of why you can and can't is better then just "cause Dr Atkins said no!" reasoning.

              I was just going to warn you about that cookbook. I see that you noticed the same thing. Some of the recipes are fine but lots of them don't follow the rules. If you see an ingredient that your not sure about, just ask and someone will come to your rescue
