  • Supplement Questions

    my Mom just dropped off a bunch of supplements for me and I want to make sure they are something I should be taking or not. I am currently trying to remember to take a daily vitamin..Centrum.

    Flax (50% ALA 1000mg) Says 3 a day
    Chromium GTF (500mcg) says 1 tablet daily
    Potassium (100mg) says 1 tablet a day
    O-Calcium (500mg Elemental Calcium & 125 IU Vitamin D) says 3 a day
    Evening Primrose Oil (standarized GLA 10% 500mg) says 4-8 a day

    Will these benefit me or should I toss them?

    I think they are all ok! I would add a vitamin E and some magnesium to help with the calcium absorption (half the mg's of the amt of calcium so in your case 250mg's of magnesium) - I take twice that much calcium... and beta carotine and geesh I take a whole handfull of vitamins.

      Dr A recommends that we take Omega's and thats what your Flax is. I take fish oil and he sells a product called Essential Oils. I would continue with the flax
      Chromium is find as is Calcium and Evening Primrose. Personally I wouldn't take the Potassium as I don't feel that its healthy to take. When I was in Japan, the stores won't even sell it without a prescription. But saying that, I wouldn't toss it either cause it would be good to take if you start to develop leg cramps.
