    DANDR Versions

    Ok, to preface this - I know everything goes by the 2002 Version of DANDR, I was wondering if anybody knew the difference between this version and the one published in Jan 99 (hardcover) or May 98 (paperback) (besides the cover) if there are any?? One of the listings just says it's a reprint. Is that correct?

    I have one with a white cover that I always use. And someone gave me another one... it's a little bit larger paperback with a red cover and as far as I can tell it's the same 2002 version.

      are you asking about the information or what they look like?

      the rules for induction changed and the OWL carb ladder was added. some of the veggies moved lists and the old DANDR has cooked veggie serving sizes on its other veggie list.
      sweetener went to splenda in the new one rule 5 changed form make your own list to eat nothing not on the acceptable lists as cheating it the kiss of death. exercise is madatory not optional, fat fastr isn't an option for breaking a stall any more and there are some toihter changes as well.

      it is like Maya Angelou says when you know better you do better. As Dr Atkins learned better about how his patients acted when they were supposed to be following what to him was easy to do plan and kept messing up he made stricker inductioin rules and asssited them in making the correct OWL food choices from catogories of foods rasnded by tehir glycemic impact on the body.

        That's exactly what I was looking for 2big.

        Now the next question - why are there 3 different published versions of the 2002 version? :P So it can have a white color and be big, have a red and yellow color and be big (both of these have the same back cover), or have a different white cover and have a different back cover. All of them have the same information on the same pages though. :P

          because each publishing company paid for the rights to print it and wanted you to buy their book. look on ther page after the title page and see if it says copy right 2002 thatis what you want. there are 2001 printing versions on sale on Amazon right now that confuse new folk still.

            They all said 2002. I guess that answers it, since they were different publishing companies... I just didn't think that they typically sold the rights of a book to more than one company.
