  • An Update...It's been too long!

    Hello my Atkins Friends!

I have been gone entirely too long, but with school, work, and trying to maintain a social life...it just doesn't leave quite enough time for me. I don't really like using the internet at work either...(although, I am now! tee hee)

Daily I normally check in on my mom's page to see what gossip she's spreading , and I just want to sincerely thank all of you for your kind remarks and encouragement! I come, read, and leave with a smile, and I truly appreciate you guys

Some people have began to notice the weight drop...I don't see it at ALL, but I never think I look good, so I don't really do myself any justice. I have heard that my face is getting thinner...my waist has gone down sooo much, and even my thunder thigs are simmering down a bit. Like I said, I don't really see it, but hopefully by March I will!

Is it stupid if I start doing crunches now? Someone told me that by doing crunches now that it is just going to firm the fat that I already have and im still going to look the same, but my fat will be firmer...is this true? Let me know, because if that isnt the case....then this girl is gonna start her ab work out so she can have a rock hard stomach for Miami!

Other then that I had an enjoyable weekend with my mother ...
I <3 her...lol Sunday I just chilled all day!! I really needed that, but around 7:30 I realized I forgot to write a paper for Sociology...so I wrote the paper then after that studied til 3:30 AM...suddenly I am taking school sooo serious its crazy...I guess I finally really just wanna do something with my life and I figure why not now while I can live off my parents

Today has been an eventful day also. I was awoken by an almost 2 year hitting my fat stomach and giggling because it jiggled lol...I had to babysit my bestfriend's son this morning and he had me awake by 6:30 AM...Finally I got him back to bed but it only gave me 45 minutes of some more shut eye...

Then I rushed to school, took a test, and now here I sit at work for another...7 hours...I hate 12 hour days...yuck!

Well, hope you enjoyed this update..and hopefully this holds you over until I can get around to writing another one...we'll see what happens...maybe u guys can persuade me to write more often

as i say to my friends..

    Listo pues...

    Chao Chao!

Oh girl...start that ab workout NOW!

The fat will NOT firm up. What you are going to do is build and tighten those muscles while the fat is still on top of them. As you slim down and the fat melts off your abdomen (that's the first place that seems to go on Atkins) then your abs will show through. If you've been working them all along, they'll be defined and you'll be very happy with the results.

You've gotta do some cardio too. If you want the fat to melt off, cardio is a must. I've started doing walk/jog intervals. This gives you a really really good cardiovascular workout. Walk for 5 minutes to warm up. jog for 1 minute, walk for 2, jog for 1, walk for 2. Start out doing 20 minutes if you can and then build up to where you can jog for 2 walk for 1...and also add length to your workout. I've been doing this for 8 weeks...and I'm up to 2-3 minute jog with 1-2 minute walk recovery for 45 minutes. I love seeing myself get more fit and i really love the fat loss.

Miss Ranita! It's about time you posted again! You have been doing awesomely well with this woe (way of eating). You should be proud. You are definitely shrinking away -- I can def see the changes. 15 lbs. is a TREMENDOUS loss on induction. Keep up the great work!

I see you figured out how to do a ticker.

As far as exercise, start with baby steps like Validrouge suggested. You know, we have that crazy dog that always needs walked. Just 30 minutes several times a week is a good start.

So, you've been lurking in my journal? I hope I didn't say anything that will get me into trouble. We'll be doing this next time we see each other. (I love that icon).

For the record - you can't firm fat. If I were you, I would kick whoever said that. By working out - both with weights (I consider abs part of my weight routine) and by doing cardio you can see a dramatic difference a lot earlier than you can without doing it. You're toning muscle by doing crunches or any other kind of resistance training. This increases the amount of calories you burn each day, raises the amount of carbs you can eat for your critical level, and makes you look so much better. Again, kick whoever said that. They are an idiot.

I was wondering when we would get an honest to goodness update from you Miss Ranita! What an awesome accomplishment to have lost 15# during induction.

You're gonna be one hot mama come next March!
