  • Atkins & Ramadan, need advice.

    Hello everyone

So I'm in the middle of ramadan and trying my best to follow Atkins and
up until now it's going pretty good.
I don't feel weak nor tired. Now to my question...
I can start eating at 6:45 pm. That's when I have a proper Atkins dinner.
But after that I'm not sure wether I should eat something or not. Because
I easily gain weight if I eat after 8 pm.
Should I eat after 8 pm?
Is there any " light snacks " that you can recommend me which I can have
    before I go to bed?

    /Liz

IMHO you need to eat every 3 hours or so until you go to bed.....Ramadan is a wonderful time of sacrifice and giving and it is important to follow the rules during the day then eat at night ..you will not gain wt as long as you stay on plan in the pm ...and there is no proof really when you eat having any impact on your weight gain as long as you do eat stick with this and most important

      Have a Blessed Ramadan

I agree with the others. It's worse to go to bed starving. Oh, and make sure to eat a big breakfast before the fast. Can you drink water during the day? Stay hydrated!

in general not even water but if you hydrate well the night before it works out ok ...daylight does not last that long and I think when you do anything for your spirit actually it all works out well in the end not to worry

the not eating before bed will cause weight gain is a myth based on folk thinking the body didn't use cals while sleeping but you do and you are also using proteins for body repairs and grown so unless you are over eating for the entire day you will not gain weight. have your food to satisfy your hunger. we have had some folk move their Atkins to maintnenance for Ramadan so they could partake of the traditional Iftar foods.

Thank you all for your replys and well-wishes, so kind

I will have a snack before I go to bed. I actually woke up at around
5 am today and had a Atkins breakfast.
Yesterday I had mums home-made meatballs but forgot that she uses porridge oats in them!
                Have to be more careful
