    Spinach!!!!

    So, all week I've been craving spinach. Probably because I couldn't have it. I call this new place, Pete's steakhouse, for delivery tonight 'cause it's been a long day and I wasn't in the mood to figure out dinner for the kiddie and me. So this place has a low carb section - there's italian chicken, being chicken breasts, red peppers, spinach and mozzerella. THEY HAVE SPINACH AGAIN!!! IT'S BACK ON THE SHELVES AS OF YESTERDAY!!! I almost ran out to the grocery store as soon as the guy told me (but I had to wait around for the food to be delivered). I don't think I've ever been this excited about a veggie before in my life!!

    I LOVE spinach and heard it would be back today or tomorrrow. Maybe it was the fact that we could not have it...............but I REALLY missed it!

      That explains it...
      I ordered a salad today and it had spinach in it, at first I was like OH MY GOD THERE'S SPINACH IN HERE!!! (not in a good way)
      ... but then I noticed everyone else was eating it... so I ate a little but it was hard to get the e-coli stuff out of my head...
      I've always tought raw spinach was kinda funky tasting though... blah!

        That's funny 'cause I always think the cooked spinach tastes a little off. Then again, I love the fresh veggies, I am an evil bunny.

                The spinach ban didn't affect my eating habits. The only spinach I eat raw is the spinach I grow myself....I know what's in it and how it was handled in the field.

                  News stations here in California said the ONLY spinach to still not buy is called:

                    Ah.. you see, I was at my mom's house when the cravings were going on, we went to the garden so I could swipe a couple spaghetti squashes, jalapeno peppers, leeks, etc. and I see her rows of spinach all lined up like little soldiers... I almost killed her garden for the spinach.

                      You should have cut off the larger leaves. That won't kill the spinach plant and in fact, it will encourage the plant to grow more.

                      Veggies straight out of the garden taste much better than the ones that have been sitting in the supermarket for who knows how long, imo.

                          She didn't have any big plants that I wouldn't have murdered. I dunno why. She usually starts the planting early - she broke her arm this year so I know she was behind on other things, maybe this was one of them... I grew up eating veggies straight off the plants - peas, beans, corn, lettuce, cabbage, zucchini, squash, spinach, pesto (yes pesto is a veggie in my world) and I gotta say - some of the stuff I now buy at the grocery store sooooooo isn't worth it.

                            Oh boy I was just thinking today how I wish i had some fresh spinach for my turkey wrap...I would love to run out and get some but kiddo's are in PJ's

                              no I had bags of it....we dont watch the news and had not been to the market .....so I just kept eating what I had ...then someone pointed it out ..but when they did I was midst salad and figured I had eaten worse in my life so I just kept eating it....I live on the edge I guess
