  • please help

    I am new here and I want to start Atkins from tommorow.
    I have read the success stories and they have inspired me.

    I wan to lose about 20pounds in two or three weeks, do you think I will make it?

    Could you please give me any useful tips for the next 2-3 weeks?

    Current Weight:
    October 7th = 165 lbs
    October 13th = 155 lbs
    October 19th = 153 lbs
    Goal Weight: 143lbs
    Height: 173.5cm (5'8')

    Don't think about the time you'll be in that new position, think about how'd you look in the new position !! ;)

    This, unfortunately isn't a quick weight loss diet and I really don't think anyone could guarentee that you'll lose 20 pounds in two weeks or two months, There are just to many variables. But I can guarentee that if you read the book, follow the plan, drink the water and exercise, you will be thinner in three weeks.

      Welcome!

      How much you lose in the first month will depend greatly on two things.

      1- How strictly you follow the Induction (that includes the required EXERCISE!)

      2- How much weight you need to lose overall.

      Alot of the big 'losers' you see in the before and afters, started needing to lose a heck of a lot more than 20 pounds.

      Myself I started this Atkins needing to lose a total of 132 pounds.. so the fantastic 32 pounds weight loss I've seen in the first month is only a FIFTH of my overall need to lose.

      As you get thinner, the weight is more stubborn and takes a bit longer to shake off.

      But don't be discouraged!! Plently of people here have started in the lower weight catagories and lost their target weight in under 6 months!!

      Drink water, exercise, eat well, drink more water.. and when your done that... DRINK MORE WATER..!!

        About your 20 pounds, I don't know. I don't know anything about how much you have to lose, and I don't know your metabolic resistance. I can tell you that I did in almost 2 weeks, but that doesn't you because you're not me. I can suggest that if you follow the Induction phase and to the letter that you will almost certainly start burning primarily fat for energy and start to lose fat. After 2 weeks of cheat-free living, you will also know that you can control your eating once and for all.
