  • Induction & Net Carbs

I'm doing the induction phase of this diet. Trying to stay around 20 carbs per day. Can I count net carbs or should I stay with total carbs? I need some bread and bought some tortillas that claim 3 net carbs. The total count is 11 carbs.

do you really NEED some bread? if so there are induction legal revolution rolls that can be used as bread. The recipe is in the stickies of the 14 day induction forum.

Low carb tortillias arer only legal for inductioin if the ingredients are legal. otherwise rule 5 of induction kicks in and we eat nothing not on the lists. Maybe you should reread chapter 11 of your DR ATKINS NEW DIET REVOLUTION 2002 edition to refresh your memeory abut what we can and can't have.

Since fiber by definition has to pass through your body unmetabolized in any manner you are safe subtracting fiber carbs from total carbs on American food labels UK labels already have the fiber subtracted from their total carbs.

      Re: Induction & Net Carbs

The reasons for Induction are to get into ketosis and to help curb cravings for things like bread and sugar. Please do not eat the tortillas. You can eat them when you have gotten to the grain rung. You are introducing your body to low carb eating and I know it isn't easy, but the restrictions are there for very good reasons.
