  • Scale Addiction !

I know I've go this addiction bad as everytime I pass the bathroom I can hear the pesky things calling to me. So much so that I vowed to only weigh myself once a week when I started Atkins.

Well folks this morningI failed and now I feel fed up as I knew I would - because I hadn't lost any more weight. I know in the grand of scheme of things this means nothing but what is it about those darn things that they can have such a hold over me LOL !

I have an addictive personality and have had to deal with them all in turn, drugs and alcohol ( I've been sober for 11 years) Cigarettes ( Smoke free for 8 years) Caffeine ( None since 2002) Sugar ( 9 days) - but WEIGHING SCALES , C'mon this is bizarre !

Anyhoo I have asked my husband to hide them, so just for today ( until I go ferreting about the place to see if I can find them) that is that

I have a thing with the scales too. I don't know why they are so g-dang important.

I'm doing much better now that I've joined the No Weigh challenge. There should be more of them rolling though here from time to time. I'd really reccomend getting involved in one!

      Re: Scale Addiction !

I had the same issue... when it got to the point of me rationalizing how I couldn't eat until the scale went down one weekend (which required me weighing myself every time I went to the bathroom) my BF basically said that if I wanted to stay with him, then I had to knock it off, and only weigh once a week. That's motivation.

        Re: Scale Addiction !

I keep my scale in the basement! It's cold down there and not hugely pleasant, so this deters me from weighing myself (I strip to my skivvies when I weigh, so I don't want to go down there and do that!)
