As I'm sure some people have heard, my city of Buffalo suffered a great loss this weekend. I left work on Thursday night and barely made it home due to the heavy snow. Nobody could have imagined what we would wake up to on Friday morning. My beautiful old, huge oak tree and been destroyed, taking with it my fence ,grill and part of my roof.It was a horror scene as you walked outside and saw trees destroyed, power lines covering the road, over 2 feet of snow and every time you fell quiet you could hear tree branches snapping and falling. Power has been out since Thursday night and the only reason I am able to get on the computer is because I am at work. It's freezing in my house and my basement is flooding. We can't drink the water so I haven't been able to keep up with that end of the diet. To even think of going to the store and getting bottled water is a pipe dream- they haven't had bottled water since the first day. I have no oven, only a stovetop and i can't keep things cold enough without a freezer. I have the snow to keep things somewhat cold but not cold enough to freeeze. I can't go to the store every day for new food because it's a 5 hour ordeal. I have cheated quite a bit this weekend and alot of it was emotional eating. I'm cold/stressed and tired. On the bright side i have been doing more exercise lugging buckets up and down my stairs so that's good. I don't know if anyone else out there is from Buffalo but it's hard to
believe what this storm has done to our city. Imagine 50% of your trees destroyed- it's absolutely heartbreaking
