  • Feeling the Atkins love...

    ...despite many caffeine-related lustings.

This is day 2 of Induction and the scales have started to drop just a bit. Clothes aren't looser yet but I think it will come.

It helped a lot that I just had some of the best tuna salad ever. 2 cups romaine drizzled with olive oil, vinegar, and lemon pepper seasoning plus a can of tuna mixed with mayo. Seriously, yum. Romaine is the first thing I'm getting more of when Induction is over. I was eating this salad and thinking to myself "Now I know what people mean when they talk about everything we get to eat on Atkins." A slice of tomato with mozzarella and a bit of induction-friendly dressing will be this afternoon's snack.

I might just make it through this thing after all.

That's the right attitude Shannon! Focus on what you CAN have as opposed to what you CAN'T have and you'll be just fine! Orrrrrr compare what you can have on Atkins as opposed to what you can have on the other types of eating plans....I'd take the Atkins plan ANY day.

    Mmmmm Tomatoe and Mozzarella!

I'm glad to see you are planning on moving into OWL after your induction...YIPPEE! That's great. OWL is where it's at, ya know!

Thanks, Joy. By the way, I've been meaning to tell you that you look absolutely smashing in that pic.

I admire people who have the fortitude for extended induction, but I need more variety than that for the long term. I definitely want to add more veggies as soon as possible. I don't think I'm so carb-sensitive that I need to worry about carbs from leafy greens, and I like them anyway, so I might as well move up. (I'm not even sure I need induction-level carb intake to lose weight, but I want to make sure I do this thing correctly from the beginning.)

Veggies are sooooooooooooooooooo good. Definitely move through the rungs, it really affords you lots of variety. Can't wait to see you posting in the OWL forums in a couple weeks!
